If you love dessert pie, and really doesn't everyone?...this is the place. Warm friendly atmosphere and lovely tiny tarts to full size pies. Yummy

I have lived in the area for a couple years and I am shocked (and sad) that I only discovered this place a few weeks ago. As a person with a major sweet tooth this place is like heaven! My husband and I both bought a treat here and they were both great. We will definitely return to sample all... More

It's my second time to this cozy place offering the best tarts in Montreal. Always use seasonal ingredients. Have tried so far bite-size flaky tarts with pistachio cheese, pumpkin, Boston cream, raspberry, pear and chai, and apples. All are full of favour. Love their rochers coco too, crisp-out, chewy-in and at right level of sweetness. Coffee is not extraordinary.

I tried the lemon merengue, strawberry-rhubarb and coconut cream tarts. They are one or two bites in size, for $2.75 per tart. Delicious, absolutely delicious! The dollop of merengue was the best I've had. The coconut cream was flavourful but not overly sweet. If you are more of a Plain Jane or Simple Simon, the standard strawberry-rhubarb tart is definitely... More

These pastries will send you back to your favourite childhood memory. Per bar is about $4 depending on which one you get. Mini pies are a bit cheaper. The large pies are about $23-$24 with taxes. Whippets and Wunderbars will have you wondering why you ever bought the original cookie and candy. And then there's their pies. It's by far... More

The little pies and tarts were very good but also very expensive. Their pecan tart was excellent though.

I used to work right beside Rustique and trying to stop myself from eating the whole bakery every time I walked home proved to be difficult. Just walking into the bakery sends you straight to heaven. Their pies are amazing as well as their other sweet bars and squares. What I really love about this place is that if you're... More

I've tried quite a few of Rustique's desserts, and most are just amazing. My favorites are the lemon bars, cheesecake bars, and chocolate hazelnut mousse bars. I like to get an assortment for dinner parties and cut them all up into single bites. Delicious and very pretty. Don't be tempted by the adorable mini pies. The crust is a little... More

We make regular trips to Le Rustique for their delicious & flavorful bite-size pies, squares and banana bread. It's a quaint & charming bakery with a great staff. Service is excellent. There are only a few tables, so we sometimes pickup and find quiet spot to enjoy our dozen various mini-pies. We recently enjoyed the apple-cranberry, sweet potato, orange-chocolate, and... More

Great little place. Very urban décor. Mini pies are delicious. Just the right size for a small snack.

Staying in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialised Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.
