Had dinner here just before it closed after a long day shooting nearby. Food was fantastic. But could barely eat the goat vindaloo. It was soooo hot and I love spicy food. Needed the raita to bring it down a notch. But otherwise great spot. Recommend.

My family and I decided to have lunch here after discovering that our usual spot down the block was closed for the day. We ordered beef biryani and I asked for really mild for my youngest daughter who doesn't tolerate a lot of spiciness, however the dish was spicy even for my high spice standards. The biryani was dry and... More

My friends and I, all having been to India numerous times, all vouch this is the beat indian food in Montreal. The prices have gone up a tad in the last years but the quality is there to back it up. It's also byob which is great. They have a wide selection of north and south indian cuisines bith veg... More

This resto always seems to be packed and so we decided to give it a try. Mind you there's another 5 Indian restaurants around. We walked in at about 645pm and got the last free table. Shortly after there was a line-up. We had a variety of dishes which were seriously all fantastic. The nan bread is just amazing. So... More

Well.. I have to preface this by saying the food good! The staff is also very polite but when it comes to ambiance and cleansiness, the restaurant is a bit lacking. I went there with a group of 15 for Birthday and found the carpets to be very dirty and badly stained at least where we sat (next to the... More

First, you bring your beer, so we had Beau's 80 Schilling. What best to accompany Indian spicy dishes? Nothing. We shared, my dad and I, lamb, chicken, chickpeas, all in some delicious and spicy sauces. With shrimp basmati rice, Naan bread baked in their Tandoor (clay oven). We weren't in a rush, and service was adequate, flowing as we savoured... More

Food was great, prices were reasonable. Staff seemed a bit in the clouds (i.e. not really attentive to customers), but otherwise things were fine.

This is truly the best Indian food I have ever tasted. The butter chicken is awesome. So is any dish with lamb or beef. Also must try the pakoras. All in all a wonderful place to eat at.

Staying in Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension

Neighbourhood Profile
Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension
The most ethnically diverse of all of Montreal's neighbourhoods, Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension (or, Parc-Ex) stands at the city's centre, a hub for rail and metro traffic. Starting at the old station where the Canadian Pacific used to disembark, the brick-and-mortar surroundings of Parc-Ex have a homey feel, with leafy lawns and bicycle lanes seamlessly incorporated into the landscape. With prominent Greek and Spanish communities, Greektown includes the tastiest stops for brochettes and shawarma, and local bars entertain an excitable soccer fanbase. Jerry Park and Stade Uniprix stand ready for sports diehards to enjoy a game, while the the Complexe Environnemental Saint-Michel and Le Taz skate parks invite athletes to train and compete. Though built for the active and best by day, Cirque du Soleil, the TOHU center for arts, and the Le Boulevard shopping centre offer diversions for those who wish to stay late.
