In Montreal with my wife in business and pleasure. Looking for a quick bite to eat . We stumbled into this small cafe where everything screams 'kool'. You order at the counter, completely bilingual and ready to please . Rough wood decor and good ambiance lead you to look a the menus. Everything is organic and free ranged. Unfortunately we... More

We found this GEM by accident! Was walking near our hotel after a McGill tour w my daughter. She looked in and said "lets eat HERE!!" Best decision we have made so far. Outstanding staff complemented OUTSTANDING good, healthful, food. We have a vegetarian amongst us and there were great options for her. Very out of the box in an"in... More

Found this spot on Yelp and ventured over to check it out. The hubs had the pulled pork, it was a little different than expected but very tasty. I had a gaspe wrap, which was also very good. The chicken was tasty and the basil pesto gave it a good flavor. Totally worth the time to venture over!

We have been to past Café pavé many times, but have never been in. Why did we wait? We went in for lunch. We had the Wrap Gaspé and the Pavé Sicilia with the soup of the day. You order at the counter, are given a number with your utensils and take a seat. The soup came first -- the... More

Loved this place, sandwiches were absolutely awesome. Nice ambiance and super helpful staff. We just did take out, but I would certainly go back.

There is something for everyone to love here. The bread is really good but the fillings take center stage. The meat lovers as well as the vegie lovers were very happy. Anything with pesto spread all over the sandwich is a sure hit. Service was friendly and efficient. On the day we visited butternut squash was the soup and it... More

I've been to this place quite a few times for lunch. The sandwiches are very good and come with a soup or salad. The soups are pretty tasty and overall I recommend this place. There only 2 things I would warn you about. 1. The special of the day is not very good, regardless of the day. These are to... More

I had looked up a place near the Old Port for lunch with a gluten free option. It was hard to also include kid friendly. Sure enough I saw this place and I wasn't disappointed. They were fast from the get go. I was able to call 1 hr before and reserve a table for 15. The options were excellent... More

This cafe was great. The staff made me feel at home and relaxed. The food was some of the best lunch I had while being here. Recommended!

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
