Nothing but excellent things to say about Caffe in Gamba - Probably one of the best coffees in Montreal - In one of the best neighborhoods - Which offers an incredible pistachio 'pain au chocolat' - And always in good company * Offers free wi-fi*

We believe that there is no good coffee outside of Italy, with the exception, perhaps, of Caffe in Gamba. And beautifully served by lovely people.

Came here for a little pick me up while walking around Montreal and ordered a latte. It was made expertly. The coffee was obviously of a high quality and the latte was delicious. I would recommend this coffee for sure!

What most shocked me about this place was how different from a New York cafe it is. Everybody was chatting, reading, smoking, or just generally...TAKING A BREAK. It was a real revelation. We came on a Thursday afternoon for a coffee and I was honestly surprised that it wasn't full of hordes of laptoppers like most other NYC cafes. If... More

Looking for a good coffee? I'm not a fan of the 3rd generation coffee, I find it too "raw" and often not "cooked" enough. But I have to admit that an in-between 2nd and 3rd would be the best...That's the coffee they serve at Gamba. Simple spot, great staff, good breakfast food and the slow, nice-easy-going pace that you want... More

We stopped for coffee and were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather and our coffees. We enjoyed people watching and felt like real French people sitting at our tiny bistro table.

Located in the Mile End district, on avenue du Parc, you'll enjoy a great coffee, on the outdoor terrasse or inside, depending on the season.

All the staff here always seem to know how to pull a good espresso as well as consistently make a smooth latte. A little pricier than other spots, but worth every sip. Very friendly employees with nice attitudes. Great place to spend some time alone in your own little world and also perfect for meeting friends. Very comfortable couches and... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
