simply excellent, quality, service, ambiance, there are no comparables. reservations must be made several months in advance for larger tables - it's worth the wait. Bring your own wine is a nice feature. Can't wait till my next visit.

The entire restaurant was reserved for a birthday party. With a capacity of only 55-60 people, it was reserved 4 months in advance. The wait was well worth it. Decor is homestead with the most comfortable chairs. Menu is limited but every item is flavourful and no skimpy portions here..Salad was very tasty. I had steak with the reduction of... More

Located in Ile Bizard (west island of MTL) in a charming heritage home, this resto is family run - the wife is the hostess while the husband is the chef. There are only about 10 tables or so, thus reservations are a must. Reservations are typically required about 3 months in advance, but we assure you that it is worth... More

It is true that reservations are hard to come by, but they are certainly worth the wait. It is a very small restaurant that holds about 30 people. They only do one sitting so there is no one pushing you to order to flip the table. This is a husband/wife run operation, and I must say it is very well... More

The best French cuisine in the West Island. Must make reservations a few months in advance because it's not a big fancy restaurant. Operated by a husband and wife team and the good thing is you can bring your own wine. Highly recommend this restaurant if you can make reservations.

With big hope we went to celebrate my wife's birthday with my girls at Bistro 1843. I had no problem to make a reservation: the week before! I found myself Lucky based on some posts read here. As for starters, we tried the so-famous crab cake.,.. We just came from a Virginia Beach trip and this is probably we were... More

We were fortunate to obtain a reservation to Bistro 1843 for our daughter's birthday. The service and food are second to none. Being a BYOB made it even more enjoyable. The restaurant is one place that shouldn't be missed. The food is superb and the atmosphere very charming and homey.

We spent a wonderful evening with our friends at this place. It deserves to be the no 2 restaurant in Montréal; looking forward to try the no 1.

My wife and myself went to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary at Bistro 1843. It is a bring your own wine restaurant that seats in total 40 people. It is owned by a wonderful married couple who the head chef is the husband and the waitress is the wife. They have one waiter to assist. The husband makes EVERYTHING from... More
