Been wanting to visit for a while, place was pretty full. Beer is cheap, wine a little pricey. The entree we had was the fried fish balls and that was very tasty. We ordered the chicken, maybe we shouldve taken the fish. The sides of salad and potato were average at best. I was hoping to have the chicken roasted... More

Such great food in such a small place. Probably our third time here... everytime for a birthday. The fish and octopus duo just melts in your mouth. One of the best Portuguese restaurants in Montreal. Thanks to the staff!

Have been to other Portuguese restaurants in Montreal and found this one through great reviews on tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. It is in a residential area, and from the street, you wonder if you made the right choice, but once you are inside you get the same wonderful neighborhood feel found at so many restaurants in Portugal, not fancy,... You like seafood and fish? That's the place, fresh, tasty and cooked at perfection like it should be! We were 4 adults, really enjoyed our plates. Table d'hôte with octopus, tuna, and calamari, mussels and home French fries were great too, one of us took the chicken and ribs, well spicy and tasty. Try the appetizers, cub nuggets...You will find... More

We were trying to figure out a place to have a good dinner and my cousin suggested this Portuguese spot which was walking distance. I was really looking for a mom and pop restaurant that had good food and nice ambiance without breaking the bank. So we walked to Casa VinHo! We sat at the bar where we could see... More

Came here for my birthday last month. The food is delicious and the staff is very attentive. The owner/chef even comes out of the kitchen to talk with guests and check on them. Authentic Portuguese food: the grilled octopus is to die for. Yummy! On a side note, we were told that if we want cod, we need to call... More

The service and food at this restaurant is great! Not in the popular section of the Masson street though but worth the tiny detour. I had lobster and a medallion and it was exquisite! I'm not a tough crowd but this is one of the best meals I have eaten in a while and the portions are great! We were... More

Chose this restaurant based on reviews and it was close to our AirBnB apartment on Jeanne D'Arc...we wanted something close by. Walked the few blocks to Casa Vinho and arrived at what could have been a neighbourhood restaurant anywhere in Lisbon or Porto. The food was fresh, tasty and nicely presented. As my husband would say "not a lot of... More

Cozy ambience, good taste Portuguese decoration, not loud (a plus!), service is always excelent. But the #1 reason I have returned there many times: its grilled octopus is super!

Staying in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie

Neighbourhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
