Food is great, and all considering not to expensive! We found it by accident while looking for a place to eat when we were new to the area, over 8 years ago- on a weekend when they have dancers. Kept returning for more everytime we needed to inject some fun to our dinners: birthdays specially! But get ready to have... More

This is the second time I visited the restaurant with a group of 45 persons. Similar to the first visit, the Moroccan food was really, especially the lamb. Also, the service was courteous and the waitresses were very attentive. The bellydancing was interesting and customers were invited to dance with them which contributed to the experience we had.

Had dinner there with a group of friends. Great morrocan cuisine, very appealing belly dancers, bring your own wine, the atmosphere and decor is unique... Going again in July this year... Can't wait !!

I came on 2013 with my wife and we loved it, however; this time me and my friends didn't like it. The lamb needs more cooking. The rice and viges where decent. The atmosphere was the worst by far. The music is awful. I listen to Arabic music all the time and their music wasn't even close to an arabic... More

The food was less than mediocre, the service was possibly the rudest I've experienced. Waitress didn't say hi, aggressive attitude. Only one waitress was respectful polite and kind. Two of them were dressed in a skirt that barely covered their thighs, totally inappropriate. One of them decided to lecture us when we asked for more bread, explaining to us that... More

This was my first and last visit to this place. It was chosen by someone else as a venue for a birthday celebration. This place seems to exist for group celebrations. Whatever you do, do not go here for a romantic dinner or small group. The big draw seems to be the two belly dancing shows at 8:30 and 9:30;... More

Fun, cheap and one of a kind in this part of town. Go ready to dance and try some delicious food, love the soup, the bread and the lamb!

We were looking for something late night to eat, and can't eat wheat or sugars. Our server was super nice, and accomodating, making a salad for my girlfriend instead of the soup. The place was almost empty and the cook (probably the owner) was sleeping in a booth (: There was a large birthday party and only us in the... More

I went to this place to celebrate my bachelorette party & I was so happy! The decor was really cool you feel like your in a cave!! The round tables in the back were super cozy & great for large groups. I had a blast with the belly dancers...they really get the crowd involved & put on quite a show.... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
