Visiting Old Montreal is always a pleasure. Sadly, our favourite restaurant didn't survive the pandemic so we went our 2nd choice only to find it was booked. Down the street was The Pincette Bar & Howard and it looked interesting. So, off we went and were so pleased we decided to go. The staff were excellent and determined to make our visit one to remember. They exceeded our expectations. I ordered the Fish & Chips and was amazed. Three pieces of lightly battered fish - the batter was crisp without the usual taste of being deep fried and the fish was perfectly cooked and steaming hot. Not sure how differently it was prepared, but I suspect at a higher temperature and for a shorter time. 5 +++ star rating. Whatever you did was simply outstanding, My wife ordered the battered oysters and her comments were identical. How can you improve? You can't get much better so keep up the good work. We've dined in quite a few of the restaurants in that area and without a doubt, you won't find better value, great portions and wonderful service.

my daughter and I had a wonderful dinner. Started with some extremely fresh oysters, then two entrees and ended with a shared mac & lobster. It was very good. The tuna tartar was so fresh, one of the best we had in a long time. The mac & lobster was very good, extremely rich. Glad we shared the dish. The Restaurant is small and charming, as is the old Montreal. The service impeccable. Everyone was attentive, polite, I would definitely recommend it. The only comment is that I would have appreciated more dishes with lobster on the menu.

Great atmospheric restaurant with nice decor. Great food. We shared cod fritters to start (portion was large enough to share), then had crab club sandwich and lobster with risotto for mains. All dishes very tasty. Service was good and friendly in both English and French. Canada is strict with covid regulations so if you're into all that nonsense then they have screens between tables, spacing and hand sanitiser on entrance

Our server JP was great and that’s where the story ends. The food was mediocre at best. We asked if we could add lobster to the the seafood linguine and the chef said he would do it for an extra $9. We only got one bite of lobster for the $9!!!! Too bad, the idea for a lobster bar is great, but you need a talented chef.

Very nice restaurant nicely located at the Old Port of Montreal. We enjoyed having a meal at this restaurant just before walking over to see the new Cirque de Soleil show (5 minutes walk). I highly suggest you reserve prior to your visit - restaurant is very popular and is most of the time full. The service was courtious and just at the right pace. Of course I had the classic lobster roll which is generously served with fries and a fresh salad. For dessert I had the classic chocolat "fondant" which I shared as it is once again a genrous portion. You can also add wine to the meal, although the wine selection isn't huge, you should be able to find a wine for your meal. To conclude, this is a very enjoyable restaurant with great lobster servings. I would definately recommend it and I will certainly be back.

Usually I am not the one to give bad review. This experience was bad!!! And I’m we actually came back because first time a year ago we had a very good experience. Something happened to the food quality and service. Never mind it took over an hour for the mains come out, the taste was terrible, tasteless. In an hour I could off managed much more delicious food. It was truly bad. Don’t waste your time or money. Way overrated. Also, instead of wait staff calling for the chef to come out for the feedback and own the disaster of a concoction, he just really brushed off as he is not the one who cooked it. Really?!!! I wouldn’t waste time or money

I had been dying to try this restaurant since I read a review about it… it is lovely inside… service was also warm and efficient… HOWEVER if I’m going to a lobster bar, I want to eat lobster. I can’t stand dill and our waitress told me the lobster salad was already mixed with it in, so that wasn’t an option… then there was the lobster poutine, which I’m sure could be delicious but I didn’t want fries. So where did that leave me? Both my husband and I paid 27.00 for a snow crab club sandwich. No bacon to really speak of and the salad it came with had so much shaved fennel on it, that it looked like cheese. Very very disappointed.

We were staying at a hotel in the Old Port area, so dining in a few of the many area restaurants was usually an evening event. For this evening, Saturday, August 3, 2024, we had tickets to see AURA at the Notre Dame Basilica at 9 PM. I made reservations for my wife and I for 6:30 PM to allow us plenty of time to relax and enjoy dinner before the show. We walked from our hotel to address given on my phone, it was listed as being on Rue de la Commune East. Arrived at a hotel, went inside and asked at the desk, "where is this restaurant?" He laughed and led us to the back and down some stairs to voila! there is t was and actually fronted on the pedestrian Rue St. Paul. Right next to this restaurant in the same building is another called restaurant called Gaspar. This place, Pincette (I looked it up) literally means "tweezers", ha ha that's funny. I suppose it was intended as pincers (or pinchers) as lobsters have with their claws. They have both inside and outside dining, we were seated inside at a cozy little table. As we admired the ambiance of this cute place our server Antoine, came to us within a minute. Her service was exceptional and friendly, which made our experience much more fun. I ordered a Montreal Old Fashioned and my wife had a glass of cabernet. We shared an appetizer of Arancini. We were enjoying the music playing and the liveliness as everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Wife ordered Guedille de Homard - which is a Lobster Roll with green salad and fries. I went with the Cassolette de Homard et Palourdes - lobster and clams, saffron, edamame, fingerling potatoes and bisque. Thses mains were wonderfully prepared and had lovely seasoning that tasted wonderful. Love everything about this place, it was fun. Thank you chefs and lovely Antoine.

I can’t rate base on food only on the way we were treated. We are a family of 3 that travel to Montreal for 5 days on final night we decided to go to this restaurant based on all the reviews. I made a reservation and call the restaurant to confirm. When we showed up at 8:30 the young man at the front said it would be a few minutes and went inside, when he came back he said they were full I said I had a reservation and confirmed it he we back inside and came back with a middle aged man wearing white, he told us they are full and can’t seat us, I said we were going to wait that’s when I realized what was happening it was 8:30 and they were closing at 10 . He said they were not going to be able to seat us at all because the kitchen closed at 10 . While we were standing there a group of 4 walked in and were seated. That’s what it hit me like a ton of rocks and we were not getting a table because we are a brown family. We have traveled to more than 30 countries and this is the first time anything like this has happened, in the end I was really happy that we didn’t give these people our business. Regardless of what people look like we are all human beings and we should all be treated the same. If someone from this restaurant is reading this, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Visited here and so glad I did ! A chic restaurant serving quality foods and wine The decor is comfortable and relaxed, the service was second to none and I honestly couldn’t fault the food,I opted for The Lobster and snow crab Mac n cheese, followed by the lemon tarte and a coffee. I will definitely be visiting here again and highly recommend.

My uncle and I stopped by here after the F1 qualifying race on Saturday. We were looking for a decent meal that wasn't too hard on our pocketbook after spending so much at the track. We booked a reservation for 8:30pm, but ended up arriving a few minutes late due to trouble finding parking. Paula was our server, and she was excellent. She recommended to start off with the cod croquettes, my uncle had the lobster risotto, and I chose the calamari and micro greens. While she was taking our order, she must have heard us mention it was a long day and we were pretty wiped from being at the track all day. She asked if we wouldn't mind all the food arriving at once, since we were in a bit of a rush to get back to the hotel. The food arrived in what felt like 5 minutes. We were so impressed by the ambiance, the food and the speed at which it arrived, not to mention the top notch service Paula had given us. I can't wait to come back to Montreal, just to return to this spot and try some more things from the menu. I couldn't recommend this place any more than I already have, and if you're lucky enough to have Paula serve you I can guarantee you're in good hands!

We selected this restaurant for the seafood, particularly lobster and oysters. The oysters were a little small, but cold and fresh, very good. The waiter recommended cod fritters, and it was a nice serving, but tasted more like fried bread and not so much cod. We were told that the whole lobsters start at 1-1/2 to 2 lbs in weight. One guest in our party ordered 1/2 a lobster, thinking at nearly 2 lbs it would be enough. There is no way that lobster was anywhere near the size as described. It was over cooked and dry, served with a salad and an overwhelming amount of French fries. When we pointed it out to the manager he immediately took it off the bill. The lobster risotto, which was good, had more lobster than the 1/2. Service was good and they have a nice wine list. But overall, too much money for that lobster.

We stopped here for Sunday brunch and sat outside to watch people walking by while we ate. This was truly a wonderful spot that felt very Parisian, but with a much more friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious, and served very promptly. My wife had a lobster roll and I had smoked Mackeral solo on toast with caviar and a poached egg on top. Wow! This was just delicious and fun with a wonderful server as well.

We had already been to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI by the time we got here, so we'd eaten many lobster dinners and wanted something a bit different. Not particularly hungry after a late lunch, we decided to share a lobster/crab poutine for our last dinner in Canada. The waiter was most pleasant and accommodating, very welcoming and funny, and provided excellent service. The dish was delicious and more food than both of us could consume, so it would certainly satisfy a very hungry individual diner. If we come back to Montréal, we'd surely return here for another great meal.

Lovely spot in Old Montreal. Tasty food (we had oysters, grilled lobster, ravioli and cheesecake) and attentive staff. Had my birthday dinner there and it was great. Thank you to Luca who actually walked us to a nearby bar for an after dinner drink and to Louis and Michael for great service.
