I like everything about this place. Its location, the food, the service. It was recommended to me by a friend's daughter. I will definitely ask for her advice again..

If you like fish, you'll love that restaurant. Even if you don't like fish, you'll like fish there! It's sooo good. It's pricey, but the value is there.

We have eaten here several times and every time it is between great and outstanding. The service is excellent, paralleled only by its sister restos Chasse et Pêche and Le Serpent. The food is exceptional, and the wine list is well priced and an excellent selection of good wines for any budget. The ambience is lively but not too noisy,... More

My wife and I visit Montreal for one night and find this restaurant on Tripadvisor as #1 restaurant. Although it little bit hard to find it since there was no big sign in front of the restaurant, the quality of the dinner and service were not make us regret. The decoration and test of the main course and dessert were... More

The recent trend in Montreal among "foodie" restaurants is small sizes. Among these, Le Filet is certainly one of the best. It offers an exciting selection of delicacies such as tuna tartare, wagyu beef, arctic char, flavoured scampi, tomato risotto, ink pasta, and maple roasted duck. The desserts were good but not great. Given the small sizes of the dishes,... More

My wife and I have a passion for good food and wine and are lucky enough to be able to eat at restaurants around the world. The quality of the food at Le Filet is simply incredible! Every dish we had here was so good that we truly savored every single bite. For us this is now tied with Chasse... More

We booked here at the last minute on a Thursday night - the place was buzzing and the food easily justified its very high ranking. The idea here is that the dishes are relatively small and easy to share. We started with mackerel pate with sesame crackers and tuna tartare. Mains were a beautifully flavoured scampi and tomato risotto and... More

My girlfriend and I had dinner in this place. The restaurant is well designed, detailed and well thought of. Food was incredibly amazing. Best food experience we have ever had from starter to dessert. Great value for money. We will definitely come back. No doubt why it is ranked no. 1.

This is the old classics restaurant with good food and attentive services. The oysters 3 way were fresh and delicious. We almost licked the tuna tartare plate. The sea urchin sauce with artic char was amazing. I tried my husband's halibut with lemongrass sauce and found the lemongrass too strong for the fish. We were not sure about the maple... More

Excellent dinner with my husband at Le Filet. Our server was very well versed in cocktails, wine and the food menu. Oysters served 3 ways to start - all excellent. My husband had the duck and I had the cavatelli with veal cheeks and foie gras. Both were outstanding. Ambiance and decor were lovely. We were 30 minutes late for... More

Staying in Parc du Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive parkland. The greenspace of Parc du Mont-Royal is an outdoorsman's dream, with hiking trails and nature walks that cater to every season and level of athlete. In the winter, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, and ice skaters don their equipment by Beaver Lake and its pavilion, while the warmer months bring families and competitors to the pitches of Jeanne-Mance Park for tennis, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, or a dip in the community pool. A perfect spot for a stroll or a picnic, the forest foliage is dotted with sculpture art and offers views of some of Mont-Royal's oldest edifices, the towering St. Joseph's Oratory and the mausoleums of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges. Home to musical celebrations and twilight snowshoeing alike, visit here to walk, write, rest, think, or just be.
