The pies at this small establishment are first class. There are frozen options if you want to store some for a later time as well. The coffee is outstanding without question the best that I have had in 5 weeks in Montreal.

The pies are absolutely delicious - very flavorful and not too heavy. We ordered for a big group at our office and the service was great. The food came quickly and everyone got what they ordered.

After years of living in Montreal, we found a resto to take my Aussie husband to. Friendly service, great homely, fresh food. Not all of it is Australian though, it seems like a mix of New Zealand, UK ++ So many things my husband talked to me about, but things I was never able to find In Canada that I... More

After some weeks in New Zealand I can tell every one who knows what pies should look and taste like. This is the real thing close your eyes and imagine one stands on One Tree Hill in the middle of Auckland in New Zealand.

Best pie in town. Really. You need to try them to believe. And the price is reasonable. I eat there at least a few times a year.

The beef and cheese classic pie with the full stack on top with potato mash and avo is absolutely great and good. Its been like being back in Australia eating some pies. Great service, friendly staff.

Much 'traditional Australian' baking was on display the day I visited: Anzac biscuits (cookies), lamingtons, YoYos (sandwiched custard-flavoured cookie), and the like. Lamington and rum ball get a double thumbs-up from me!

We stock up whenever Ta pies visits Ottawa. The butter chicken is fantastic! As are the Lamingtons. Great tasting pies with good quality ingredients a bit of a taste of home.

We were ecstatic to find this place. We have enjoyed NZ and Aussie pies during our travels, but never been able to find the same quality in Canada. Not only is the quality there at Ta Pie, the prices are extremely resonable and they have other Down Under treats and sweets to sample. We liked this place so much, we... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
