Great afternoon hanging out and trying different drinks and menu items. The mussels were some of the best ever, served along with french fries and mayo. If french fries can be fantastic, these were it. We had a number of drinks as well as everything on the left side of the menu. The bartender was great explaining all our choices... More

Our family feast at this lively pub was a total success. It was easy to get to via the Metro ( Peel street station). We had made reservations on line, giving information about food allergies. The staff were aware of the allergy information and were able to reassure us in a professional and conscientious manor. The cocktails were great and... More

First time here. The food and ambiance are great. We started with a series of shareable appetizers (there were six of us), including the charcuterie, cheese plate, corn fritters (soooo good!). The braised beef (main course) was exceptional. Tender, flavourful, cooked perfectly. Others at the table had the beet salad, daily special, cod. All declared it great food. Too bad... More

Great drink selection. Was not a big fan of the food menu. We had the corn fritters which were bland. And I had the fish platter. Was ok. Great service but not my type of menu.

A client referred us to this lovely little Bistro. It was fantastic and in the heart of the business district. Reservation highly recommended.

I went with someone for a couple pre-dinner drinks and had a hard time leaving. The bartender was knowledgable and attentive, the buzz in the restaurant was vibrant yet not overbearing and the drinks were delicious. I will be back next time I am in Montreal.

3 of us went on Saturday without a reservation. We sat at the corner of the bar which was great as we got to talk to the wait staff. The scotch egg was something different that the waiter recommended and it was great. My wife had the mussels which she loved. My son and I both had steaks which were... More

Featuring a plethora of interesting 1920s-inspired design details, the Dominion Square Tavern is a cut above your average downtown eatery. Enjoy simple classic fare such as mussels and fries or a pulled pork sandwich in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Top it off with a sinful serving of sticky toffee pudding. Newly reopened, the tavern is already a huge hit with the downtown professional crowd. A full bar, cocktails, wine and beers awaits.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
