This place was absolutely delicious. The menu is small but very good. I got the duck and my friend got the lamb. Both were delicious and came with filling sides. We also got the creme brûlée. Super tastey and friendly staff. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. As far as price, our meal with dessert but no drinks was about... More

Had a lovely bottle of rose. The hanger steak was perfectly cooked and the Belgian style frites were fantastic. My wife had the pasta du jour (fettucine with goat cheese, tomatoes and basil) and enjoyed it. Nice space, a little music in the background and very attentive, friendly service. Great find.

The food was very good and relatively fairly priced at this restaurant. The lamb and gnocchi are both excellent choices. I would go back without hesitation.

Lovely restaurant in Montreal's Plateau district, on Mt Royal avenue west of St-Denis street. Warm greeting, family-run restaurant, southern French cuisine. Enjoyed a lovely 'table d'hôte' 3 course selection: salad, with main course of veal mijoté with pasta and lovely tomato mix. Colleagues enjoyed fresh fish (filet of sole with mushroom sauce). Good wine selection, great ambiance, best value in... More

This family-run restaurant specializes in Corsican dishes. Mine was a Corsican veal stew with melt-in-your-mouth gnocchi. It was accompanied by a Corsican wine which had a nice bite to it (not being a wino, that's the best I can do). The dessert was a delicious creme brûlée with basil. Interesting and pleasing combination. My only suggestion would be that the... More

I have driven passed this restaurant many many times . Last night we went for supper with friends and I have to say that I was extremely surprised of this little restaurant. Cozy with friendly french owners with excellent adorable french wine list. The food was excellent. Kristin ad corsican veal with gnocchi. The freshest gnocchi and tender veal. I... More

We were spending a couple days in Montreal and chose this restaurant because of the reviews on Tripadvisor. It totally exceed expectations in every category. The ambiance is lovely - small, quaint with chalkboard menus. The staff lovely and attentive. My husband and I both ordered the hangar steak (steak frites) with peppercorn sauce. Excellent!!!! The meat was flavourful, the... More

My wife and I ate at Plein Sud on our first evening in Montreal. We were treated like honored guests and also met the owner's young family, when they happened to stop by. This was a perfect meal for us. My lamb shank was excellent and my wife's magret de canard was medium rare as desired. Both had well prepared... More

We happened on this place as we were walking down the busy Mont-Royal Ave. We didn't have reservations but the staff was very accommodating. We each had a pasta dish and then the cheese course for desert. All were delicious, There was also a special on wine that night so everyone was happy. This is a cute little restaurant which... More

I liked the interior and the service was amazing. I really like the guy's attitude and good mood, although it might maybe bother some more serious people. The food was my first introduction to really french cuisine and I think it was done well. The duck confit was a bit tough to chew but I think that's just how it's... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
