Second time at Jacapo. Great food however the service was not great until We complained about our waitress .
When we dine we typically order mains , appetizers Bottled water and 1 or 2 bottles of wine . Basically we’re not just spending 70 $ for the 2 of us . However the service we got last night was like we ordered 2 fish and chips and 2 glasses of tap water . I think a great restaurant has to have great food and also great service otherwise it’s not a great restaurant! . Don’t get me wrong some people do not care about service . And that’s ok . I care about both . Anyway, Valentin , last night made up the difference with his extra attention . Thank you very much . We will be back and hopefully we will not have to complain.

Happened by this restaurant and were happy to get a table for four without a reservation. Although we got off to a rocky start (long wait time to bread, especially after getting the oil and balsamic shortly after we were seated), a difficult time getting our order taken (it was too busy for the number of servers, I believe) and a meh gnocchi, we were delighted to receive a flight of desserts at the end of the meal.
The chicken was very good, the pulpo (octopus) was fantastic and the squash ravioli was only so-so (very oily and salty).
I would recommend due to the fact they realized that mistakes were made and they were gracious on the exit with the beautiful desserts. The hazelnut cheesecake was sublime, the pistachio was a perfect crunch and cream texture and the panacotta was also a perfect caramel!

We stopped here for Saturday Brunch. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I had the breakfast sandwich selection while my husband had the more traditional breakfast of scrambled eggs and ham. Both are served with large potato hash browns and each meal comes with a biscotti before the meal. The focaccia bread was amazing and the portions are large. It kept us full right until supper.

First the good. The service was excellent and the water glasses were filled frequently. I ordered tea and the waiter offered to add hot water which I apprecicated. I went for the Happening Gourmet Festival 2020 in Montreal. There was a choice of a set menu for $17.00 or the regular menu.
I chose the set menu. I opted for the doughnuts-with a bit of chocoale and carmel on the outside.I thought it was fun to begin with dessert first.They were not overly sweet which is good but they were heavy which was not so good. I then ordered the Italian style eggs Benedict. They dish came and the items were barely warm. Not a good start. The eggs were well cooked-nice runny yolks which was tasty. There was a rose sauce which was tasty. The eggs were on a bed of toast which was hard as a rock. And the potatoes were a bit too al dente and tasteless. The two people around me had the same complaints although there dishes were different. This was really too bad as the problems were easily solvable

We tried the restaurant because of MTL a Table. Staff seemed not sure about that menu being offered, and unlike other restaurants participating in the program, no one asked me to scan my QR code for the program to participate in a draw. In terms of food, it was average. The beetroot salad presentation was ok using two kind of beets, topped with some arugula; however, I couldn’t taste the freshness of the products. We added $7 for the option of grilled octopus, taste of which is a bit disappointing although portion was big. The carrot purée was cold, not sure if it was supposed to be. For desserts, we tried the almond biscotti which was delicious, with good texture and flavor of eggs and almonds; the tiramisu was also good and not too heavy; the last one was something like angel cake sandwiched with ricotta/cream and covered with rhubarb coulis, not bad but not impressive. The restaurant has a good location, right in the area for tourists, and a lively environment which you can enjoy through sitting at the terrace, and waiters and waitresses are friendly.

I visited this restaurant this evening for a family reunion and a celebration. To be fair the food was good, but between the first course and the second the wait was over an hour and a half! We eventually spoke to the manageress after repeated enquiries to the waiters- she was next to useless-cold and without a genuine explanation for this huge delay, we were simply informed that it was busy and that there was a long line of orders! Others were kept waiting just as long as we could see other tables also getting frustrated. After requesting some form of recompense( and again asking for our food order!), we were offered and took a discount on the bill. The waiter was very apologetic( the manageress not so) and so it took over 2 1/2 hrs to have a 2 course dinner, spoiling the evening completely. Ok, it is a bank holiday weekend but surely they should have planned for that? Hopeless service and a useless manageress- dont bother going to eat at this place unless you are prepared to wait hours for your food.đź‘Žđź‘Žđź‘Ž

I had a lovely evening her with my daughter. We shared our dishes as we were not super hungry. Everything was delicious and our waitress Sara was fantastic and so attentive and paid attention to what we wanted. Everything tasted fresh and I would go back. It had a vibe for everything. You can go there with friends, family and even a great date night. I would go back again.

Got lunch here - ate outside. Lovely atmosphere, limited menu.
If you want many of the appetizers you can ONLY get them if you do the full prix fixe menu. No way around it. Felt a little bait and switch with the menu once we sat down.
Then- were told the kitchen was really busy so we may not be able to get the tuna cooked the way we ordered and we may not be able to add chicken to the salad. I get a busy kitchen but… felt off.
The waitress and host were lovely- and seemed used to apologizing for things.

We were looking to grab a quick lunch when we arrived in Montreal, somewhere close to our hotel. Jacopo had seating available on their terrace.
Pros: Good location with a terrace. Server was friendly. The rice ball was very good.
Cons: Food was mediocre. The grilled salmon was actually poached, but my husband said it tasted ok. The chicken madeira tasted as if it had been pre-cooked and reheated. They had a 25$ pre-fixe lunch which was to include an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. They were out of the biscotti and amaretti. When I asked if there was an alternate dessert, they offered the tiramisu which had an upcharge of 5$ so I ended up with only 2 courses. My husband’s “seasonal salad” was mostly raw peppers with a few spinach leaves.
The place is OK for a drink on the terrace but don’t expect much on the food.

We went mid-day on a Sunday, and were still in the mood for breakfast, so this was absolutely perfect. We had toast avocado morue and carbonara, and these were all delicately prepared and super delicious. Mimosa Mousseux with the meal, followed by cappuccino. Just a relaxed and cozy feel to the place.

The Vespa outside the restaurant lured us in, but we wish we had taken a pass. Dining experience started out okay with a beer and Sangria and complimentary warm focaccia but our appetizer was not brought out before our mains arrived so we cancelled it. My chicken breast was very tough and vegetables very undercooked, almost raw, flavour was good tho. The other dish at the table was gnocchi and that was very disappointing, sauce was too strong (almost tasted like it came out of a jar) and thick and the temperature was lukewarm. When bill, I had to point out that the appetizer was still charged.

We decided to try this place when passing looking for a place for lunch. We were not disappointed! Our server, Tristan D, welcomed us warmly. Oddly we were seated between other busy tables, but we realised that many other tables were laid out for four people. The menu had plenty of choice. I was surprised the wine menu did not feature any Canadian wines.
We partook of the lunch fixed price menu: Tristan explained the soup and fish of the day which positively influenced our choices and we tucked in merrily.
The ambience was very nice, our water glasses were frequently topped up, and we enjoyed the dining experience delivered by Tristan.

Decided to try this restaurant out based on trip advisor reviews and taking a look at their menu.
My reservation was ready when I arrived and they were able to accommodate me in the outdoor patio. Service was friendly and reasonably attentive.
I ordered a Caesar Salad to start and decided to try their special of the day, a Lobster Risotto.
The Cesar salad was nothing too special, not a great presentation on the plate or anything, which was disappointing. Was kind like a rushed side salad you could get at any restaurant.
And then, unfortunately, my Lobster Risotto showed up while I was barely half done my salad. I rushed to finish my salad as I didn’t want the risotto to get too cold, but alas, since I was sitting outside, the risotto dish was rather cold on the perimeter by the time I got to it. I also had to wait to flag someone down to be able to get some fresh cheese and pepper on the risotto as well. Now, the dish itself tasted fantastic, and was well prepared and presented… so I was overall pleased with it… it just needed to come out at a more appropriate time.
So needless to say, that kind of error falls on the wait staff for not paying attention to where their tables are in their meal - and it shouldn’t be too complex to track for a table that is eating solo. It seemed clear to me the salad and risotto were both out in at the same time. It also makes the customer feel like their only goal is to turn the tables as quick as possible.

I had an excellent experience with Jacopo and their team, Alejandro, Dawn, and Catalina. It was a pleasure planning an event with them, they were very accommodating and accessible. On the day of the event, the food and drinks (cocktails and wine selection) were well received by our guests. The service was phenomenal, our guests’ water and wine glasses were constantly being refilled, and they were doing so with a smile. From the beginning to the end, their professionalism came through from the first day of planning to the day of the event. Highly recommend reserving the second floor for a private party. I can’t thank them enough for giving my family such a beautiful and memorable event.

Outside seating is nice. Appetizers were good. From there the experience went downhill. Service was spotty, long waits for drinks and appetizers. We asked for bread not twice but 3 times before it arrived. All 3 main courses, spaghetti carbonara, ravioli and orrichett(?) were overcooked. The wait for our dinners was extremely long, with no appearance of our waiter to update us or ask if we wanted drink refills. Prices were high for quality of service and food. I would hope there are better Italian restaurants in Montreal.
