Absolutely fabulous meal. Many vegan options. Spanish/French cuisine. Highly recommend. I had a Spanish mackerel on a bed of roasted veggies and a perfectly prepared potato mash.

Another great recommendation from our hotel concierge. Pretty restaurant with great service. We started with the salad with goat cheese that we shared and it was more than enough for 2. The vegetarian lasagna was served piping hot and quite delicious. The salmon with crusty top served with vegetables was so tasty! We finished the meal with a shared chocolate... More

Late February Tuesday night in the Old Montreal in the mood for something Spanish-leaning... Colourful, flavourful, fresh, delightful and hospitable. Giving it 5 stars for a sweet moment and last evening in Montreal till the next one. Will be back... Thanks!

Our first meal in Montreal was here and we were not disappointed. The service was spectacular as was the food. A child menu with salmon, and our midi menu had a wide variety of choices, all very good.

What a pleasant spot on Rue-St Paul O, in Montreal's Old Town this eatery is. The restaurant bills itself as offering traditional Basque and Catalan dishes, with '... a sunny menu of products from the market'. The restaurant gets busy, and we were pleased we had reserved a table earlier in the day, as we were walking past looking for... More

Our hotel made a reservation for us at the restaurant advising them that we are vegetarians. Upon arrival we ordered a bottle of water and then attempted to order when we were advised that the restaurant was out of their vegetarian meals despite 6 specific entrees being listed on the menu. We then went to leave and were charged for... More

Les Pyrenees really does it right. The atmosphere is elegant but low key, service is excellent but not overdone, and the food is top notch. Don't miss the salad with the goat cheese and strawberries. We had several of the specials, all excellent. The deserts were good too. We were there as a family as were several other groups, but... More

Tucked away in the Old Town, this restaurant has loads of character and a good menu. Food was excellent, good choice of wine and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and efficient. A good choice for a night out with friends or as a couple

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
