Went last night with a friend, and we were super disappointed that the hand pulled noodles weren't hand pulled... we asked of the servers at the end of the meal if the noodles that we'd ordered (#25 the acclaimed hand pulled noodles) had actually been hand pulled to which he replied "yes, well, except sometimes they're not... ask to make... SO pleased we came here as the service was spot on, the food made in the open kitchen in a flash and the taste quality was excellent. This place also has great prices but treat it like a pit-stop cafe style eatery, not somewhere to hang around for a romantic chat. It's all about the food, and fast. We had... More

The food was really average I had the pork noodle spicy soup it was probably one of my least favourite Chinese dishes I have had. My gf chicken was a bit better. The waiter was rude and wanted to rush us to order . I will never go back.

Logged onto the TA app looking for good Chinese food in Montreal. The reviews for this place are spot on. The decor is nothing special. The crew works hard and gets good food out fast. Really good noodle dishes. The dumplings were good too but I would go with the hand made noodle dishes.

Fun place and fast service. Price can't be beat. It is very small, but don't worry. Tables turn over quickly.

Probably, the fastest service ever and good decent food. Don't expect to linger as the speed with which your food arrived meant that your speedy departure was equally desired. Sweet and sour soup was below expectations but the general Tao chicken was the best ever. When you have children, you try a lot of general tao chicken and this humble... More

A small but still good Chinese restaurant, it is a clean place with very tasty food , you should ask for they're specialty: noodles but also general taos chicken is very good!

Just at the entry of Chinatown, this small restaurant puts out amazing food (and lots of it!). No frills here, just great Chinese food, cooked right in front of you. Fancy it ain't; but the food is the best and the staff is very accommodating. Would go there every night. Both the kitchen and dining area are spotless. Best part... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighbourhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centres, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
