Had the most lovely experience and probably the most exquisite meal we have had in a very long time here at la Fabrique. We witnessed a high level of culinary creativity in the chefs, the food was local, hearty, Quebec comfort food and the staff performed very happily. Tartare de bœuf, scallops and croccquettes, ending with french toast which is... More

The food was excellent. First off the menu is in French, so brush up a bit, it was not hard to figure out, our waitress was very helpful in filling in the blanks. I had my first Watermelon Mimosa, it was very good. French Toast, Duck Fat Fries a must. Very innovative menu, and a great atmosphere.

Our hotel recommended this spot for dinner and it did not disappoint. It's a charming bistro with the food preparation in the middle of seating. Dinner started with a jar of their homemade pickles and ended with a jar of cotton candy! Service was great and the food expertly prepared.

Went on a weekend evening. The restaurant had plenty of tables free. We were seated immediately. Our waitress was very friendly and our orders were taken promptly. She answered our questions and took the time to explain the different categories on the menu since it was our first time. The decoration is original and the kitchen in the center of... More

This is a really innovative menu and I love the interior -- we've only been to Montreal twice in the last year and we've gone here both times. It's a great Sunday brunch place located in a trendy neighborhood. The "bowls" of eggs have so many interesting flavors that it's a real treat to eat as well as watch them... More

Wonderful bistro to begin our Montreal vacation! We walked from our rented condo to this great eating establishment. We were seated at the open windows and enjoyed the people watching it afforded. Started with the soup--superb!! Served with grilled bread, yummy. Had a salmon entree that was to die for! Service was excellent, our first encounter with the French language,... More

We ate early and got one of the tables at the front of the restaurant looking out the open frontage across the road to the park. A great spot for people watching. The service was great, the food fantastic (I ate a great platter of beef tartare, salmon tartare and pork marrow spring rolls) and servings very generous. A great... More

Treated myself to out of the ordinary meal. This is a modern restaurant with an industrial decor that matches the menus' eclectic offerings. The food was excellent, as was the service. There was a surprise at the start and end of the meal which I will not disclose; instead I encourage you to go and experience.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
