I came here over the weekend with 5 other people (total party of 6) for drinks and snacks. We had a wonderful experience, the service was attentive without being obtrusive and the drinks and snacks were excellent!
The patio is very well done with spaced out tables and clear plastic shields. All the waitstaff wore masks and were very friendly! The view of the water is absolutely incredible!
The cocktails were delicious and the beef tartare and salmon were delicious and presented quite well!
Would love to return here again soon.

We were delighted to discover the winter terrace of the William Gray Terrace and its warm domes. The atmosphere is magical, the domes offering an intimate refuge while preserving a breathtaking view.
Julia greatly contributed to this exceptional experience. Her attentive service, knowledge of the menu and enthusiasm added a touch of warmth to an already enjoyable experience. The winter menu offers delicious dishes, a true celebration of flavors.

What a blast we had yesterday evening at the restaurant of Hotel William Gray! This is the best place to be for an amazing dining experience this winter! We were comfortably seated on the rooftop under a heated dome to enjoy a wonderful 4 services dinner while enjoying a magical view on the big wheel and the old Port of Montreal skyline! What an outstanding experience for magical winter vibes!

First of all, I have nothing bad to say about the service and the staff. Our waiter was very helpful, explained everything to us. The food arrived quickly, the whole place isn't too crowded so it doesn't get obnoxiously loud.
My main concern with this place is the price. A sangria pitcher, which is around 60$, gets you about 4 glasses, and is FILLED with ice and barely any alcohol, we didn't enjoy drinking it. We then ordered other drinks, and the same thing happened, not a lot of alcohol, mostly ice. I like the uniqueness of the drinks, I just wish I could enjoy drinking it.
As for the food, the fries were very good, although the plate was small. Definitely get the truffle mayo to go with the fries. Do not get the salmon tataki. No ingredients in that plate were harmonious, everything from the texture to the taste to the price was terrible (28$ for a tiny portion).
Overall, the view from this restaurant is incredible and maybe that's what makes it so special.

While visiting Montreal we decided to visit the Terasse at William Gray. We had been there on a previous trip and loved the views and cocktails. We could not make a reservation so checked with the hostess at street level. We were placed on a waiting list but figured an hour wait was worth it. Imagine our surprise when we finally received the call and were ushered to our table on the complete opposite side of the building with a view of a brick wall and an ice machine. I immediately returned to the hostess desk but was told that the other side was fully booked with reservations even know it was 9pm. I returned to my seat and decided to make the best of it as it was unlikely we would find anywhere else to eat this late. Another couple were seated at the table in front of us. Apparently they had the same feelings however were moved to the other side after complaining. Unfortunately it got worse...the food was terrible. Short Rib pasta which seemed void of any short rib and was topped with Oatmeal? We had ordered a bottle of wine and when we were only half finished this less appealing side of the patio had cleared out and the servers were feverishly cleaning up likely hoping to get cut and go home. Once again I returned to the hostess desk to explain that we were not having a nice experience and still had wine to drink. Again, I was told that the view side was fully booked with reservations. I walked away with great disappointment and sat back at our table when to my surprise the hostess came to me to tell me that only just now had she received a call from a customer cancelling their reservation?? What a coincidence. We were moved to a table on the view side which now had both numerous empty tables and bar seating. Clearly it was simply more hassle than they wanted to move us. We enjoyed the views and the remainder of our bottle of wine but not without a great distaste for how our evening had gone and I might add with little attention from any servers. Customers should be warned of possible seating locations before they wait an hour for a table and anyone reading this should be warned that Terasse William Gray is a great location for a drink (if you are seated on the nice side) but avoid the food at all cost. In Montreal where virtually everything tastes better it is hard to believe that the food at this restaurant could be so sub par and the service so abysmal.

While the overlook and views of the ports and pier with the Ferris wheel are nice the quality of the food and service override the scenery. The roasted squash main dish is rediculously impractical to eat. Instead of scooping out the roasted squash or cutting out the edible squash meat you’re given an entire half of squash intact, on a slippery plate making it impossible to cut. Because the squash is in tact it’s too hard to cut out enough to call it more than a wasteful starter. If this review makes it back to the kitchen please urge the cooks to rethink how this dish is presented. Being one of the few options for my vegetarian husband he was unable to eat much and pretty dissapointed, especially since we still had to pay full price.

I was looking for a patio/terrasse in Old Montreal with nice views and found Terrasse William Gray online. The patio photos with views of the Jacques-Cartier bridge and big wheel looked great so I decided to go there for dinner with my best friend. The hostess that we met downstairs on St. Vincent street told us that the wait time was an hour which seemed reasonable so we decided to reserve a table. When we finally got our table I was very disappointed by the awful table that we got. It was in a smaller section of the patio facing an old brick building therefore giving us absolutely no view! I was looking around trying to understand why the management thought it was ok to seat clients in this section. We also had to deal with the noise of the ice machine when waiters filled large buckets of ice near our table. An Asian couple was also seated right next to the noisy ice machine and a black couple were seated in a far corner next to the old brick building unable to enjoy the view. A couple of eastern European clients close to my table made a joke with their waiter telling him that "they didn't come here to do the dishes" pointing to the corner where empty cups were in large trays ready for the dishwasher and the ice machine were located. They asked to be seated in the main patio with the views but were told that it wasn't possible by the waiter. I paid the same amount for my dinner than the other clients who enjoyed the beautiful view and left feeling like I was duped by the hostess who made us wait an hour for this terrible table and experience. We finally walked over to the main patio after we finished our dinner to get a glimpse of the beautiful view that I had seen online. It was bittersweet!

My evening at the domes of the William Gray Terrace was a memorable experience in every way. As soon as I arrived, the spectacular view of the Ferris Wheel captured my attention, creating a warm and magical atmosphere. The domes offer welcome privacy while allowing you to fully enjoy the urban panorama which lights up at nightfall.
Julia's exceptional service really added a special touch to the evening. His kindness, professionalism and attention to detail helped create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Julia made sure every aspect of our experience was perfect, from recommending delicious dishes to ensuring we had an unforgettable time.

During our recent visit to Williams Grey Terrace, my family and I had the pleasure of being served by Elizabeth, who made our experience truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, she was warm, welcoming, and attentive to all of our needs. Her knowledge of the menu and ability to recommend dishes that suited everyone's tastes were impressive.
Elizabeth's attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect. She was always available without being intrusive, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for us to enjoy. Her friendly demeanor and professionalism left a lasting impression on all of us.

We stayed at the Hotel William Gray and visited the Terrace almost everyday for an afternoon snack or late evening cocktail.
The views are what people come for but the drinks and snacks are very good and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
We watched the fireworks one evening and they had a few very nice specials on offer.
They do insist you have a reservation which is a tad inconvenient when your staying at the hotel on the 7th floor and the checkin in at the front of the building on the ground floor, calling the number when busy does nothing to help this problem.
Plan ahead and you’ll be rewarded with excellent views and some really tasty food.

The terrace view of Vieux Port was the highlight. Food was pretty good, but adding shrimp to a salad for $15 and getting three shrimp?! Relaxed setting with retractable roof/cover. Average service.

A great hotel terrace. The food was very tasty and had a good selection of items. The best part was the service. Esme was such a treat. We went back upstairs the next day for a coffee just to see him. He made our lunch very enjoyable and fun and really showed what good service in Montreal is.—- Yvanna and Cyrus, Toronto.

Our family had Sunday brunch at Terrasse William Gray this past weekend. The space is lovely and has the best view in the old town. Simply stunning. The service was good and friendly. The menu was very limited though - only four choices for a main course. Food was fine but not great. Really you are here for the view. Would recommend it especially for people new to the city.

We had the best experience in every respect. Our server, Mauricio, was the best server we have EVER had: attentive, patient, clear with perfect explanations, responsive to every request we made (and we made many), accurate in dividing the check exactly as we requested, simply perfect!
The food was excellent (but we have to come back to experience the famed shawarma plate that they had run out of for the season), from the salmon, to the steak, hamburger, steak tartare, and the heavenly dessert. The organic French Syrah was heavenly. We felt treated like kings and queens. And the view! the best Terrasse in Old Montreal!

Super nice place with an amazing view of the city! I recommend coming a little after sunset to be able to follow the city at night. I was attended by Mauritius who simply recommended a great dish (Shawarma), besides the great Recommendation Mauritius was super attentive and friendly!
