Five of us had a late lunch at this little, slightly below street level restaurant. We all enjoyed our meals. The lasagne I had was out of this world! And I am particular since I married into an Italian family. Great place!

Food not too bad, place well located but the waiter was very aggressive ! I was with some friends and my Russian friend made a great effort to speak French. We don't know why exactly, but the waiter got suddenly upset and took his arm violently. Our only theory for this bad behaviour is that he was maybe thinking my... More

We had a wonderful meal tonight. Fabulous arugala salad. Fantastic rack of lamb. Actually we shared the salad and the rack and it was plenty for both of us. Really good flavour. The house wine was "okay", not great but definitely not bad. We spent$133 including tax and tip, so it was "okay". Not cheap ... not overly expensive. I... More

Lunch specials included salads and pasta dishes. We were a group of nine and all were satisfied with their meal. Service was excellent! Would return.

The portions were very large at Chez Paesano, but quality-wise the food was very ordinary. Clearly the ingredients in the calamari and the linguine alle vongole were previously frozen. It is way too expensive for this quality of food but you do get a lot of it. The house wine was, too put it politely, unimpressive.

The Italian guy outside the restaurant is really nice, he convinced us to try the homemade pasta. I specifically ask if the ñoqui was home made and he said yes. Well, it wasn't. We were sited on a table and a better one was free, because the people just leave. We ask if we can move to that table and... More

We enjoyed a number of meals at Chez Paesano during Grand Prix Week. Peter lured us up the stairs for pizza and then we returned 2 more times for dinner. The food was fresh and good, the view was great, the atmosphere was festive. When we return to Montreal we will definitely eat here again.

Great terrace location overlooking the street. Without question, the best calamari. The business group I was with all concurred that the calamari was one of the best any of us ever had. The marinara was slightly chunky and perfect for it. We had a variety of entrees: - Veal chop: A little tough, large portion, flavorful - Filet: Huge, delicious... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
