This was our 3rd separate visit to Mothers Dumplings. It's a must visit every time we are in Toronto. I've never had better dumplings anywhere- they're made by hand and come to the table piping hot and fresh. Boiled, steamed, fried- all are awesome!

On Spadina Ave, one of Toronto's Asian neighbourhoods, is a best-kept secret. Unassuming and lost amongst a sea of restaurants is Mother's Dumplings, sure to fill your belly and not bust your budget.

If you like Chinese dumplings then this is the place for you. Hand made in front of you, they are tasty and very reasonably priced. Beware you can't book a table unless you are a large group - so be prepared for a short wait at busy times - rest assured it'll be worth it.

Vegan hubby and I stopped here before an appointment in Toronto. It was quite busy despite the late hour (10pm) The decor is simple, and the tables are close together. The surrounding conversations were not intrusive but you should not go here if you are expecting quiet and solitude. We were seated quickly and offered Jasmine Green tea while we... More

We went with two other couples on their recommendation and it's a popular spot so I was glad we had reservations. This restaurant serves food from Northern China so you'll find a lot more menu items with meat and wheat than usual. We ordered up a storm and it was all tasty - my favourites were probably the Beef Onion... More

We were visiting from the US and our daughter took us to this place, not far from the U of Toronto. We would have never found it otherwise--but we are glad we did! We tried quite a few things (and probably ate too much!), but everything was very good. Highly recommended.

Wow, these were some dynamite dumplings. We were staying for a weekend just on the border of Chinatown, and with two dumpling fiends in the family we sought out a few different spots to compare styles and flavors. Mother's Dumplings were the uncontested favorite -- several different styles (boiled, steamed, fried), plus buns and other classic dim-sum-style bites, and some... More

First time visit today and definitely not be the last one. We shared boiled pork dumplings, steamed juice pork dumplings, steamed lamb dumplings and noodles with shrimp garlic and sesame. Everything was really good but the table agreed that the juicy pork dumplings were the best. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We'll be back!

I absolutely love this place! One of my favourite restaurants in the city. The food is incredible and the staff are friendly and helpful. Whether you are in the mood for an assortment of dumplings, or if you want a full entree, this restaurant does everything well. Great for lunch or dinner, though sometimes you may have to wait a... Lunched there January 4, 2017. From the start the service was terrible. We had ordered 2 medium soups - sweet and sour and wonton. Waitress brought large sweet and sour and said we could both eat that! Waited about 1/2 hour for wonton soup to arrive. Then served one of our other entrees. Waited another half hour - nothing arrived.... More
