We visited last fall with our grandchildren. Sushi was okay, service was okay. Décor is from an older Greek or Italian style restaurant. Washrooms in the basement were not great. Grandchildren were okay with the experience, however.

Chewy sushi, tepid miso soup, soggy tempura. Frayed posters and chunks of plaster missing from a wall, no wonder it was empty. Worse yet was the basement where the washroom is. It has been said that you can judge the cleanliness of a restaurant's kitchen by seeing how they maintain the washroom. Filthy, stained toilet and sink, puddle on the... More

I have bene here for sushi, teriyali and it is great. Serving staff are very good, food is outstanding. The decor is simple, but for me, it is very clean and the rest rooms are spotless (something I look for)

Haven't been in a while so tried it again and was shocked at how tiny the sashimi portions were. It was AYCE so I ordered more but still seemed silly and cheap to serve up a sashimi the size of my baby finger. Lots of funky rolls to choose from and various appetizers but not the best quality. Its just... More

By far one of the best Sushi Restaurants in Toronto. I prefer maki rolls when I get Sushi, and Sushi Island has some of the best maki rolls I have ever had. My favourite is the Firecracker, which has tuna and 5 spice seasoning. Fire and Ice is a close second with Cooked fish and hot banana peppers. They also... More

I like that Sushi Island has a few all-you-can-eat options. My husband and I like sashimi (+ sushi) but our friend does not so she paid less for a still wide selection of tasty choices. The servers were attentive and helpful and the food arrived fairly quickly. Nice atmosphere too. It's a great place to go if you need a... More

If you want reasonably priced good sushi in a great neighborhood, check this place out. Not the high end menu of pricier restaurants, but everything is fresh and if you don't mind the wait, delicious.

The service is amazing and the food is delivered very quickly. The sushi is some of the best I have eaten and if you are having the " all you can eat" option you will not go away unsatisfied. A wonderful little neighborhood restaurant in little Italy!

Nice little place. Very fast service. Average sushi but good price. Bathrooms were dirty but I think that's downtown Toronto for you. I would go again if I was in the area.

We entered with a group of nine men ready to eat. First thing we ordered was 90 pieces of salmon sashimi. We were told it would be coming right away, as we would expect at any all you can eat sushi restaurant. We ended up only getting 20 pieces of sashimi between all of us. We were there for three... Staying in Little Italy

Neighbourhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
