In an area with a lot of pubs and bars it's tough to stand out. The Black Bull has a good corner frontage with a very decent patio for more clement weather, and agreeable space inside with a choice of banquettes, high tables and chairs or seats at the attractive, slightly old fashioned bar. The range of beers is good... More

Stopped in after a Blue Jays game for a pint and a bite. The beer was good but I would say the food choice (appetizer) was average. I ordered bruschetta which I expected to be created on toasted baguette slices, but it was soft, untoasted slices that arrived which made my choice unmemorable. I don't know about other food options,... More

Entering that pub wasn't expecting to enjoy beer that much as I did ! They have big selecion of beers and what is more, bartenders and waitresses are very good in helping you choose a beer you like and wanna try (that's a big advantage!). Pub provides pool table and outdoor tables. It's rather crowded.

Stopped in for a bite on a Friday night in July. It was busy, so we thought that was a good sign. We asked the host if we could sit inside as it was very hot out and he told us to seat ourselves as there were lots of empty seats inside. Turns out it was packed inside as well... More

Food was bad (we had calamari which was actually ok but the burgers and sandwiches were horrible), service was mediocre at best. Would not go back.

Catch the local atmosphere and lunch or dinner here. Son enjoyed fish and chips, we had great burgers and great beers. Lots to choose from. Wait staff was very busy, but efficient ! Located on Queen Street.

Popped in here while walking back to my hotel from Chinatown. I had a couple of beers, of which they have a large selection to choose from. For my lunch, I had the fish and chips which were pretty good.

Great place to stop by for a drink in nice weather as they have a large outdoor patio. The atmosphere was relaxing yet fun. It wasn't too noisy outside so it's a great place for conversation. The staff was efficient and friendly.

I visited this bar to get some drinks and watch euro2016. It is a good place for drinks not for a place to look for good food.

It is essentially a pub so pub fare, beer etc. You don't go for the food although it is edible, you go to people watch.

Staying in Queen Street and West Queen West

Neighbourhood Profile
Queen Street and West Queen West
Known as the Art & Design District, West Queen West is one of the most energetic and dynamic of Toronto's neighborhoods. Along with its great modernist museums, clubs, and restaurants, it's home to some of the funkiest specialty shops, ranging from clothing to stationary to collectables, and caters to niche and vintage shoppers of all kinds. That makes it a mecca for creatives, including hobbyists designers, writers, and painters. With ink on their hands and fabric pelts in their bags, visitors to Queen Street traverse the avant-garde blend of historic architecture and ultra-contemporary fare. Home to some of Toronto's chicest hotels and most modish java fixes, busy with street cars, and always suffused with live music drifting onto packed patios at bars and clubs by nightfall, the vibrancy of West Queen West is undeniable.
