We have been going to Cava for a a number of years and always enjoyed the wide selection of tapas and equally impressive line up of Spanish wines. Generally good service and compared to a few years ago much better acoustics.

Most expensive dishes on the menue, steak ($36) and paella ($65), are the best value for money. Tapas are amazing, delicately spiced and soothing, albeit small. Wine pairing is a must with tapas. Ambiance is unobtrusive, industrial modern, and low noise ... very important these days as some restaurants with excellent food are painfuly noisy. The service in Kava is... More

We were craving tapas and searched online for what was close to where we were at the time. Found Cava online and decided to give it a try. Got there at 5:30 pm on a Friday night and there were already a few tables with guests. By the time we left, the place was packed. This is why they recommend... More

Party of four attended for an intimate 50th birthday celebration and trusted Cava with their tasting menu. Everything was perfect despite the challenge of the birthday girl announcing that she had an aversion to onions...argh...at a tapas restaurant! Both the kitchen and our server handled everything in stride and produced 7 interesting and delicious dishes. Roasted sablefish and black rice... More

Great tapas restaurant with romantic atmosphere, attentive service and very good food. Portions are tiny, so be prepared to spend a significant dollar or leave hungry. The Ceviche and Stuffed pepper were wonderful, but he Croquetee of Jamon and a couple of other choices were mediocre. Solid wine selection. A few tables sat empty for the entire evening, yet we... This restaurant offers Spanish tapas updated with new ingredients and cooking techniques. We loved the Super Guilda, the avocado pinch, the Jamon croqueta, the roaster beets, and the grille octopus. Definitely worth trying if you like Spanish food.

Nice surprise that the food and service was excellent. Can't say that regarding many restaurants in the city. Note please, it's a tapas restaurant so portions are meant to be shared and are on the small side as the dinner is shareable. Lamb stew was excellent. Down side - pretty pricy - 2 drinks each, a few dishes, shared one... More

We were asked "Do you trust me?" and we were so glad that we did. We thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of plates along with paired wines. The server (likely the owner or manager) was incredibly knowledgable and loved his craft, and his enthusiasm was catching. We were celebrating a birthday, and they made it quite a special evening.

the menu makes you want to start at the top and work your way down as everything sounds so delicious .... I was dining with a vegetarian so our choices were a little different than I might have chosen.... I was thrilled that EVERYTHING was wonderful.... pinchos were delcious ...so I'll be going back for the foie gras and the... More

Cava is a fabulous tapas restaurant with a true Spanish flare and great Spanish wine list. Smaller restaurant with a great local feel. The venison is incredible.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
