I'm not sure why my experience differed from everyone else's, but I really thought George was alright. Food - I really like the way the brought us some starters. However, to be quite honest, the food I had was mediocre. I ordered one of their vegetarian options (I don't remember what it's called exactly) and when I tasted it, I... More

Reserved a group dinner in one of the private rooms for approx. 20 guests and from the moment we entered until the time we left we were given fantastic service. The servers were fast, knowledeable and attentive, the food was presented magnificently and taste was superb. Would definitely return. The creative menu along with the unique presentation will certainly tingle... More

I've been to George many times. It's an elegant restaurant, but is laid-back and not a bit stuffy. Don't let that fool you: the staff are professional and sharp. The three of us ordered the 5-course tasting menu. I appreciate how each diner gets his own twist on the course. It's a competition to see who gets the best plate.... More

Very cool patio and a great menu format. Multiple courses of smaller dishes is a fun way to eat many beautifully prepared meals in one sitting. Very solid service. Presented the food but in a non-intrusive and unpretentious style.

This was not our first visit to Chef Lorenzo Loseto's Queen St restaurant, and if I were to adopt a Toronto restaurant as my favorite, it would be this one. From the moment we entered to the moment left, our evening was not just memorable, but a true culinary experience. Our party of three chose the 5 course tasting menu... More

We hadn't read reviews before eating here but liked the fact you could see the food prep in the kitchen from the street so that drew us in. Our meals prove you get what you pay for. Yes, higher end but so beautifully prepared and delicious. We would certainly have the tasting menu if we're in town again.

Our son and his bride had the opportunity to get married and have their wedding celebration and dinner here. They kept telling us how wonderful the food was along with everything else. Boy,did George deliver! We had a beautiful four course dinner. There was a choice of two dishes at each course and the servers never missed a beat. Each... More

I went to George for my birthday. This met all expectations from the incredible food, ambiance and service. Everything was amazing and they even accommodated all allergies and food dislikes. This is a first class restaurant that I thoroughly enjoyed. It's a wonderful experience.

It's a perfect summer night late July so you ask for an outdoor table. Food is always great here and service seamless. I start with a pomegranate passion cocktail and my husband has the Singapore sling and we're off. The amuse- bouche are perfect again, promising more wonderful ingredient combinations. Our first are lobster- quinoa- avocado in a spicy delicious... More

Excellent food. Submit to the Chef's sampler...be surprised. You are in good hands. Indicate what you are allergic to and then leave the selection of all of your courses to your Chef. Great environment for a business lunch or dinner out with a loved one, family or friends.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
