Absolute perfection... Very nice decor and welcoming staff when you walk in, then amazingly attentive and knowledgeable waiter and sommelier, and superb food and wine. In addition, the tasting menu for two came with a twist: each course came with two different yet equally delicious dishes paired with their own wines!

We did the tasting menu with wine pairing, absolutely out of this world. One of the best restaurants we have ever been to. Sommelier was wonderful. Unforgettable experience.

I took my husband to George for his birthday a few weeks ago, and we had an excellent time at George! We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings, and we loved the fact that we would each get a different dish throughout every course. They were extremely flexible in their wine pairing as well, and were open to adjusting... More

I really likes the location and atmosphere. Food was great and set up to be a tasting menu. 3 5 or 7 course. It can get to be a long dinner about 4 hours but well worth it.

Good atmosphere, good service, extensive wine list. Good selection food menu. Promptly shown to table on arrival, attentive but not intrusive service. A little pricey but worth it.

Service is slow, and some dishes are good and others are not. DO NOT get the cornish hen roulade. It is not good. But Bison and steak are wonderful! The decoration is amazing and love Elizabeth Munroe flowers everywhere.

Here is one of my favorite restaurant in Toronto, they have taste menu says five courses or ten courses, if you are couple you should be try that five course with especially wine for food. I have been there for two times hope more times in the future. Arts and food are the same .

My husband and I have been meaning to try George's tasting menu for a while, so we decided to treat ourselves for our anniversary dinner. Service was prompt, if not cold. Our waiter didn't introduce himself or ask us how we were, he simply asked if we were ready to order. No one also offered to check my coat so... More

We were treated to a spectacular gastro experience! The chef created some really great dishes including swordfish, an amazing pork belly, and so much more. Each meal was accompanied with a special wine pairing that was well explained by their fantastic Sommelier. I can't say enough. Worth every penny!

Just got back from a great meal at George. The atmosphere is lovely. A nice blend of old & new, well lit but not glaringly bright. The staff were excellent. Every single person knew exactly what they were doing. They were attentive without being intrusive. We had the 7 course tasting menu. What a meal!! We each had something different... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
