Live jazz from 10:30 or 11:00 am to about noon each weekday with 2 to 6 musicians. Participatory community involvement. Easy-going friendly vibe. Home roasted coffee and selection of teas, biscuits, and light lunches. Best community hang-out in Toronto. Best place to make friends and find out what's happening in the community. I learned to take it easy, take my... More

I was a regular here when I lived in Toronto. Fantastic coffee, great live jazz, and a warm community vibe.

I have been coming to this coffee shop for 6 years now. I always take my first sip of Ethiopian and tell the owner Winston , what great coffee he makes. He roasts small batches in a machine that he swears is identical to his grandmothers in Jamaica. What ever he does the results are worth it. The added bonus... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
