My friend and I went here last weekend for dinner. Upon entering we were asked whether we had a reservation to which we said no. We were given the hairy eyeball for not having a reservation which made no sense because the place was not half full, nor did it get more than half full during our time there. The... More

My husband and I came to Utsav on Sunday night without a reservation. Nonetheless, we were greeted and seated promptly. The place smelled heavenly, and we soon found that the food tasted just as good. We started with aloo paratha, nan stuffed with spicy potatoes. It was fresh and spicy and we both loved it. Then we had lamb vindaloo,... More

Nice food and good place. Reserving the table is necessary on busy weekdays. A suggestion is that it needs more options for vegetarians!

Cozy place, nice friendly staff who were attentive and wanted to please. The food was great but some diners who are not used to having heat in their food may not enjoy it. I ordered the lentil soup, lamb and nan! And I thought the food was delightful. The lamb was spicy just the way I like it.

We really enjoyed our lunch! Everything was so perfectly cooked and delicious, the vindloo was our favourite, or was it the Alo Gobi, I cannot decide - if you love Indian this is a gem. In the lower part of a building and the service is slow but it is worth it!

Dined here for the first time last night. The service was attentive and warm without being overbearing. The food was mediocre. My wife's dish was clearly frozen vegetables warmed up in a bland korma sauce. My eggplant was good, but nothing spectacular. I wouldn't go out of my way to return here. There is better Indian food to be had... More

We have ordered takeout from here several times and it has always been amazing, so after today's excellent meal I made sure to do a review. We have also dined in on occasion, but the fact that the delivery is so consistently good, warrants the highest praise. Additionally, they are the nicest people and have excellent customer service. The last... More

The service was better than the other reviews stated. The food is for non Indians as the masala chai is made for the Caucasian palate leaving out the masala. If you have lived or worked in India skip this restaurant.

Delivers what you need and expect. Good curry and good service. Good value and good beer options. This is not fine dining but good food. Had the Goan fish curry and chana marsala. My companion had the lamb vindaloo not very hot and the trimmings. Will return.

We came here on a Saturday night with a reservation and the place was full so that was a good idea. We ordered three sets of the chef special chicken tikka masala and garlic naan, with a special naan stuffed with potatoes which was really really good. The sauce in the chicken was really tasty especially when dipped with the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
