Rated Not impressed. I was craving jerk wings and these guys aren't even close. You get a tastier product at wing machine. However the service was good and the rum menu is an interesting twist. I will not return. Unless of course i got overwhelming evidence of their jerk improving.

I took my boyfriend here as a surprise as we are always looking for great Jamaican food. The food was good and the prices were very reasonable. The service, once we were seated, was great. Our server was very good and shared the story of the day Rihanna and Drake came to film their video. Pretty cool experience to be... More

Went to this restaurant and I'm still up in the air with my opinion. I'm not too fond of this new location. The parking was limited and the location seemed out of place. The decor was similar to their old location and the size is almost the same. The food was just "ok" not any better than any other Jamaican... More

This restaurant has been a mainstay and a popular West Indian Restaurant for 30+ years here in Toronto. After they were told they had to pack up and move from their long time location at Queen & Broadview, many residents of Toronto were upset thinking that was the end of an era. But they found a better location at Gerrard... More

Great food and AMAZING piña coladas! Service was so so the first time and terrible the second time. The curry goat had good flavor but so many bones not really worth it. The jerk chicken was delicious as was the curry chicken. The shrimp rundown was so good definitely recommend it!

The food was sooo much better than I expected. Great flavour, moist and best of all, delicious. Great atmosphere. Service was a little slow and they had no more patties. But overall great experience

Service often tells the quality of the place and the experience you will have. Tristan provided amazing and Efficient service. My partner and I live in Markham After visiting for her first time last week, she convinced me that the service from Tristan was so amazing, the food was authentic, served hot and fresh and that we need to go... Came for Thursday night karaoke. It was a fun atmosphere. The waiter was pretty Mia and messed up the order on both our dishes and we had to even wait on silverware even after the dishes were served. It's a fun spot and the food was good but they need to work on service.

When I liven in the area, I used to frequent the Jerk about once a month. It became comfort food. Well, we've both moved, me to Woodbridge and the Jerk to Gerrard St. I've had their Roti's (excellent and stuffed full of meat, potatoes, veggies) and their jerk chicken (used to be my favorite in the city...comes with coleslaw and... We have moved to a new location at Gerrard and Carlaw. The Real Jerk is a cultural icon that burst on to the Toronto food scene in 1984. Most new customers are awestruck by the decor which is inspired by beach restaurants in Jamaica, Trinidad, or Cuba. The restaurant had been at its previous location for 24 years and featured a dramatic facade that drew you in and got you hooked on the signature Jerk dishes. As they say at the Real Jerk "we don't just sell food, we celebrate Caribbean culture". Ed and Lilly Pottinger brought their uniquely Caribbean cuisine and widely popular decor to Queen Street East. It has been a mainstay ever since. If your having a special occasion or simply need wholesome comfort food on a cold winter day, the Real Jerk is the place to be. This 80 seat restaurant is also available for theme parties, movie shoots, and catering special events. Simply call to make a reservation.Come and experience what tens of thousands of Torontonians and tourists have already enjoyed over the years.Everything will be irie....

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
