It is very busy and crowded. We got a spot on the bar and it was pretty awesome. We were able to watch the guy shuck oysters all night, bartenders were outgoing and funny, the food was outstanding. Highly recommend.

We visited from England, first time trying lobster and it was amazing, The atmosphere was homely and friendly, the staff were efficient and friendly, put extra candles on the table and a candle in a complimentary dessert for my partners birthday without even having to ask, gave a gift box so we could take a losbter claw home to England... I've been wanting to go to Rodney's for years and years now and we finally went! Thank god! It was waaaaaay better than I ever imagined. Dishes we had: - 12 oysters (the waiter picked the oyster selection...fantastic) - scallops were amazing! served on a bed of spinach, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes.... I want this again! My favourite dish of the... More

Overall I liked this place. Would return. Staff was very nice and accomading and oysters were good and fresh. Things I didn't like are the fried calamari...Had some taste in the batter like they fry them with some other strong fish or maybe even the fried..If they have them...Just a wierd taste and would not order them again. The oysters... More

Excellent place. We ordered the scallops, calamari and oysters and we were not disappointed. We went early evening and we found the service to be very professional and friendly. The prices are a little high, but the quality of the food absolutely makes up for it. Even the vegetables were so succulent. Halfway through the meal, the manager came over... More

Great little spot for a nice night out. Oysters were delicious, service was great. The only downfall is that they don't serve heard liquor, but the beer is cold! We'll be back.

Here for large business lunch, and have many times before, and still a very good spot. The oysters and most the other appies are great, as the large group platters I would describe as just ok this time...the lobster & crab legs have honestly been better in the past.

Had a mixed dozen oysters chosen by the waiter. Absolutely fantastic flavor and freshness and variety from all over North America. The sauces were quite varied and delicious. The chowder and scallops were excellent as well. Their wine paring, knowledge and advice were very much enjoyed and appreciated. We will be back.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
