The food here is really bad. They need to revamp their menu and add some new and exciting dishes. What they do have is horribly cooked and extremely over priced.

The soup and the eggplant tagliatelle were both very good; the tartufo was standard issue. The wine is rather overpriced. Service is friendly and competent. If you want to eat between 6 and 8 you may have to wait for a table; Banfi does not take reservations. We got there just after six and got the last table for four.... More

We were invited to join with family at this local neighborhood favourite hangout in the heart of the village in Forest Hill. It's small and they do not take reservations so you need to go early to secure a table. There is a small side counter to wait if early and we enjoyed a glass of Italian wine that was... More

If you live in Forest Hill, Banfi is a great local restaurant for Italian food. There is usually a line at the door if you do not get there early. The pizzas are great and there is a lot of choice. There are a number of choices of pasta. Not a lot of meat and fish choices. You cannot get... More

We were extremely dissappointed with our experience at this restaurant. There are so many good restaurants in the city it is a shame to waste an evening here. Everything was disappointing. The food was extremely bland and the waiters were very inattentive. The prices are outrageous considering the above.

I would absolutely avoid this restaurant at all costs, especially if your not a local. We waited an hour for a very simple pizza while everyone around us was served there food, from veal chops, to fish. The waiters were very friendly to the locals, however ignored us and were not very apologetic for our over an hour wait for... More

The food was far from decent Italian food. Our table had pizza and pasta and none of us three was satisfied with the food we got. service however is very friendly and the espresso is good.

Banfi emphasizes fresh food, flavourful food and great service. Its parchment paper-wrapped dishes are especially moist and delicious. Prices are reasonable.

I have been going to Banfi for over 10 years and always a pleasure. Located in Forest Hill Village on Lonsdale Rd, just west of Spadina Rd. Nino is a wonderful host/owner who always makes his customers feel welcome. They are open for lunch and dinner. Many choices of pastas, pizzas, entrees. They will gladly add/delete an ingredient for dietary... More

Don't take dinner reservations - the wait is worth it! Pasta is out of this world. Great prices. Generous servings. So much so, not room for dessert.

Thank Laura J

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
