Went with a business colleague and found Mercatto just ok. Server was nice enough but not extremely informative. I had the lasagna which wasn't anything special while my colleague had penne that under delivered. Price seemed a little rich for what we got and I...More

Excellent food, server that seated us showed poor seating choices but changed tables when this was pointed out. Waiter was very good. Recommend the ravioli and Pine nut tart. Decor used to be much nicer but food is still good.

Renovated and new menu. Small over priced starters. Had a tuna which was nothing special. No one bothered to bring us bread but did to other tables. Lamb main course over cooked. Really poor service and noisy place

Great place to eat in Toronto, they have the restaurant and a section to buy sandwiches. We were impressed by the speed of the service. I recommend the half chicken, tasty!

I am reviewing this restaurant again because it has recently been renovated and given a fresh look. Last time I went I found the food to be good. They've taken the place up a notch. The décor has become less fancy and more cool, with...More

Met a dear friend for lunch on a Tuesday. He is a regular and it definitely showed that they care about not only their regulars but new customers as well. We shared five dishes (that I thought would be too much for lunch!) recommended by...More

With so many great options in the downtown core, I think Mercatto got the design and execution of the restaurant wrong. Pizza's are off the menu which were a staple of the old menu as is quality. Nothing about the dishes we had were spectacular....More

Its busy during the lunch hour weekdays. Have attended several times (at least 15 times over past couple of years), quick service but it is loud (sometimes have to yell to hear across the table). Favourites: ARANCINI, CRISPY CALAMARI, Mains: CAVATELLI, RIGATONI, LAMB CHOPS, PORCHETTA...More

The restaurant went through a Reno recently but what didn't change was the excellent, authentic italian food. I have had a variety of meals here but my new favourite is the steak, potatoes with crispy brussels sprouts which is excellent. Each item on the plate...More

We went to Mercatto for Valentine's Day dinner before a Hockey game, so our reservations were for early dinner. We chose the Valentine's day menu which included an appetizer, main course and dessert. The appetizer was a pork terrine with crispy Parmesan chips. The main...More

A modern take on 'local' place of habit. Rosticceria, bracceria, paste + piccolo piatti are key menu elements, including 35 wines offered by the half and full bottle.
