This is my "to-go" place any time I decide to grab a bite for lunch. Their Japanese food is totally killer! The sashimi lunch special is totally recommended, I usually get it with an extra bowl of rice to get a nice, filling lunch.

We were wandering through Chinatown looking for a Chinese restaurant - couldn't find one to our liking - but came across Kon-Nichi-Wa. Something of a hidden gem perhaps? It was early in the evening but the restaurant was busy - a good sign - and we were still able to get a table. The menu was fabulously presented and varied.... More

Tucked away in Baldwin Village in Toronto, Konnichiwa looks like a dive. But it's not. It serves authentic and very reasonably-priced Japanese food in a nice environment. We sat on the small patio outside the front of the restaurant. Service was quick and helpful. The six of us at lunch each tried different appetizers and main course, so we had... More

Great little spot on Baldwin. The waitress was incredibly friendly and accommodating. She was very patient and answered all our questions about the menu. I ended up getting the wasabi/octopus appetizer and the cold ramen as it was a hot summer day. The appetizer wasn't to my liking because the wasabi was a little too strong for my tastes but... More

Toronto has an abundance of sushi restaurants but few have a patio! Baldwin Village is a treat in summer a variety of restaurants, most with outside seating. We chose a perfect soring day for lunch. First time here. Quite an extensive menu, more than the usual offerings, some rarely seen. We both selected a sushi bento. I would say about... More

We're very happy to find this little Japanese restaurant in Toronto downtown. Nice place, food is good and service pleasant. Lot of choice, we were 5 at the table and each of us and each of us were happy about the menu. Good Japanese food is hard to find, so I recommend this place for a good dinner between friends.

Konichiwa is as authentic as it gets when it comes to Japanese food. It's owned by a Japanese lady and all the staff are also Japanese. It's the best place for sushi in Toronto. The place is not huge so if it's full, you're out of luck. During the summer, they have a nice intimate patio so you can hang... More

Kon-nichi-wa is a great little Japanese restaurant that you may walk past and never even notice. That would be a big mistake. It you are interested in authentic Japanese food, fresh fish and hospitable service for a reasonable price, look no further. I have eaten here many times over the last few years, it is reliably good and I have... More

Rustic quaint building with the tables perhaps a little too close together, but they were almost all full by the time we finished. Very authentic Japanese bistro style menu, with very reasonable prices. One of the best tonkotsu ramens I have every had, delicious broth! The gyozas were perfectly seasoned and had very generous fillings. We ordered a yellowtail roll... More
