A great spot for a quiet dinner for two. The carbonara and seafood pasta were delicious! We had great service!

When here for a quick dinner before a Panasonic theater experience. It was a small cozy establishment, that reminded me of a mom/pop restaurant. The service was great, they accommodated us and our very late dinner companions, and I heard them try and make everyone meal a special good one. We had the seafood risotto, veal parmigiana, mushroom salad and... More

Visited this restaurant, with a group of about 10 people and we almost filled the place. Food was good, everyone seemed to enjoy their meal and they had everything from seafood risotto, veal parmaigan, salmon, and chicken penne, banana cake with Nutella was a bit different.

It is on Hayden Street, one block south of Bloor and Yonge almost across from the south entrance to the subway. Opera played in the background. I ordered the house salad ($7), seafood risotto ($22) and pot of tea ($2). The salad was baby greens, tomato with balsamic vinaigrette. The risotto came with calamari, shrimp and scallops. While it was... More

Focaccia is a small restaurant you might miss if you aren't looking for it~ but look! The food is wonder comfort food. I had the spaghetti with the sausage and tomato; it was spicy and wonderful. Exactly what I needed after a long day. This is one of those places that supports the theory "don't judge a book by its... More

With only 8 tables this is truly a small space, but so warm,& cozy. It is intimate when full but I was not overwhelmed by the noises from the animated conversations happening around me. I stuck with the price fixe menu as I was in a hurry. The owner and waiter were sweetly attentive; I will return to this place.

My family ate dinner at this restaurant because it was close to where we were staying in Toronto. My husband and I both ordered the Veal Parmesan and my daughter ordered the Chicken Florentine. Our veal was tough and stringy and the pasta sauce tasted like it was from a jar. After eating a fair portion of her chicken, my... More

I attempted to go to this restaurant twice to use a Groupon. Both times the business was closed, even though their website and the phone automated machine confirmed that it was supposed to be open. Horrible experience considering the walk to this restaurant is 30 minutes both ways in the freezing cold!

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
