Spent many a night at the Embassy...what a great place! Always busy and full of life. Try the curry fries, they are so so good. They also serve a great chicken fingers and fries. If you're drinking it's good to have that sort of pub type food to munch on. They also have a full menu, I have never been... More

The location had pretty basic bar food and it wasn't anything to get excited about. It wasn't bad, though. The decor was very nice.

Because of its reputation, I was looking forward to a 5.30 p.m. small group (5) wedding anniversary celebration. Despite prior table reservation, staff were indifferent, got drink and food orders wrong, main elements of meals were just OK but fries were cold. As a nondrinker I was informed that the pint of Guinness was good but gents washroom smell was... More

We went here for some pub food and drinks. Very intersting pub with huge ceilings. Must have been a bank or something. The washrooms are a down quite a few steps, so if your knees are good, have at it. Looking forward to returning.

Waited 10minutes before one of the waiters actually decided to come over to the table instead of mucking around nothing. Had a grilled cheese sandwich with Brie, fig spread and sliced Granny Smith apples it came with a side of green salad. Some of the lettuce leaves were definitely pass their best, all slimy. The sandwich was excellent. Returned back... More

Why is when you can agree on where to go for dinner, you always end up at an Irish pub. Not an issue as it was a really nice pub. There was heaps of good beers to chose from and the dinner menu had some really great comfort foods on this. The Irish stew was awesome. It was filling and... More

We went on St. Patty's day ..waited in line for at least an hour..while others showed up and we're ushered in under the pretense that they were friends of the owners! Once inside we stood. when a table became available we sat ..we were told couldn't sit due to it being reserved? We were told when we called no reservations!... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
