This is a nice place to eat before a show. The food was very good and the dessert (I had the cheesecake) was excellent. The service was also great and our waiter was very attentive.

We went for Pizza Friday dinner before heading to Rogers Centre to watch baseball. This restaurant isn't a pizza joint but a billboard outside said they serve pizza in the basement section. When we saw one of the 10 or so different pizzas was called "Peking Duck"(!), we decided to go with a basic pizza (tomato sauce, cheese), and requested... More

Friendly staff and great service. We had the ceaser salad and it was fantastic homemade dressing lots of garlic! The California steak was great, slightly... More

While the seating can be a bit cramped, overall this is a very good place. We had excellent chicken salad bowls.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Fred's Not Here. i'd like to start off by saying that the service that my girlfriend and I had was spectacular. The service staff was very fast, coming by and asking how our food was on multiple occasions, refilling our waters and ensured that we had a great experience. The atmosphere... More

Attended lunch and had their famous lobster/crab soup. It was ok but not "souper special." Ordered a medium rare steak, but it was medium. The grilled pork and peanut satay became better as time went on. Overall good but for the money, it was almost great.

Close to the Hall. Great service. Best pig knuckle I've had. Good wine list. Best of all, called to reserve the night before and there was no room at Fred's. They reserved a table downstairs at Red Tomato but allowed us to order from the Fred's menu. Excellent all around.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
