I walked 20 minutes looking forward to this lunch, only to find it is empty and no one answers the phone! Waste of time.

We went there for dinner, I had a big smoked sandwich, and my wife had the petite turkey sandwich, they are wonderful, thought about having another sandwich before heading to the airport, unfortunately, ran out of time, but will definitely stopped by on my next trip.

On a cold night a corned beef sandwich and a beer sounds like a pretty good idea. The ambiance is probably fine when it is full of people, but when virtually empty it feels like a wasteland. The corned beef was OK; but the bread a tad dry and the pickle a bit sharp. I have had better corned beef... More

Busy, loud, ordered take out. Had the 10oz Smoked meat and Greek salad. Both excellent. Huge portion of smoked meat and perfectly balanced flavour. The Greek salad was lightly dressed with good amounts of cucumber, tomato, feta and olives. Excellent.

On the 2nd floor overlooking Adelaide St is this quaint old building in the concrete jungle. I enjoyed the Montreal smoked meat sandwich with traditional dill pickle. Comes in three sizes depending on your appetite. Draught beer on tap. Soup of the day.

I was impressed with the size of the sandwiches (and the options with ordering different sizes of sandwiches). Unfortunately, I found the overall flavor lacking. I'd stop by here if I wanted a lot of food and very quickly, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

Stopped here for a late lunch and ordered the corned beef sandwich. I loved that there were so many sized options for that! Even the skinny (the smallest) seems big. Good fries and a nice beer selection. Friendly staff who were attentive, but not annoying.

This is great little place with delicious sandwiches. We had the turkey and smoked montreal on rye which were both excellent. The upgrade to the poutine was definitely worth it as the fries are good as well. Note for families - no high chairs.

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
