The atmosphere and the service was phenomenal! The food was a bit lacking in flavor, especially the main courses. However, the Burrata with Roasted Grapes was sublime! Definitely a restaurant with a romantic vibe.Seating was a bit cramped with the tables along the wall, but chatter was quite low so it wasn't too much of an issue. I feel as... More

We went for winterlicous and were not impressed with our experience. Bymark came highly recommended to us, and my boyfriend is a Mark McEwan fan so we thought why not go for winterlicous. Our appetizers were just simply not good. My main dish wasn't too bad (I had the salmon) but my boyfriends short rib dish was watery and lacked... More

My fiance and I have made it a habit ti enjoy Bymark twice a year, once for Summerlicious and once for Winterlicious. This was our 3rd Winterlicious and we both agreed it was the Best 'Licious we have had so far! I had read a few reviews prior to going and they were mixed. I started with the steak tartare,... More

Went for winterlicious - salad lacked any flavour - fish was great however the wasabi element was hardly noticeable. Dessert was good but nothing extra ordinary - expected more from Mark mcewan's restaurant.

Bymark had a special Prix Fixe menu this weekend. I had the Grilled Branzino and my wife had Juniper Rubbed Duck Breast. Everything, including the appetizers and deserts, was great. Staff was friendly and attentive.

This place is top $$$ but also top drawer. We had the creamed spinach which was nice because it was light on the cream paired with bone marrow and lobster poutine as appetizers, followed by the rib eye. My wife had the burger. Loved it. This was the best rib eye steak I've had in a long time, maybe ever.... More

Every year for my birthday, we go to a different upscale restaurant. Despite the glowing reviews of this restaurant, overall it did not live up to my expectations. In a top end restaurant with equally top end prices, I expect everything to be pretty close to perfect, which it was not. My appetizer was the beet and kale salad. It... More

A contemporary restaurant in the TD Tower. While its signature Bymark Burger with porcini, brie and truffles (@ $38) was tasty, it was not that over-the-top as some rave reviews would have you believe. Nevertheless the food is very good here, as well as the attentive service.

Lunch at Bymark. Hadn't been there for years. Menu is always unique and went for the Grilled Lobster & Cheese with Tempura Onion Rings. Lobster was tough and chewy and the Rings were deep fried and not Tempura. Waitress was very gracious and explained that the chef does them differently. That's his choice but he/she doesn't do them Tempura style... More

We came here with a party of 8 for an year end celebration dinner since it is conveniently located at the TD center in downtown Toronto where it is accessible by subway or cab. The restuarant has a nice ambience and table setting so that there is adequate space without feeling too crowded. Since it is a party of 8,... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
