Whenever I come to Toronto to catch a Mirvish show, I always try to get to N'Awlins too! The foods fantastic and the live music is DAP! It is a smaller venue so sometimes it's full, but if I can, I'll wait for a table; it's worth it!

We went to see a show at the Princess of Wales and did not have a chance to eat before heading in. We were hungry but didn't want anything huge as it was very late. This is one of the few restaurants in the area that keeps their kitchen open late. We had a couple of appetizers each, which were... More

I was heading to see a Mirvish Production so we had dinner here as it was very close to the theatre. The place is very narrow and they try to squeeze as many tables in a possible. I made a reservation for Valentine's Day, however, they only had seats at the bar available. Since it was short notice and we... More

My adult children and I went here for dinner prior to a show. No reservations were made, we were being spontaneous for dinner. It was the best "spontaneous " dinner ever!. The food was fantastic, environment is a bit crowed, but was manageable. Exceptional service was a warm welcome, even though it was a bit busy. We had a great time.... More

The food was great. I had seafood arrabiatta. Delish!!! Perfect amount of spicy. My date had seafood platter and I had one of the blackened shrimp - sooo yummy. A band was playing. It was warm and inviting. Staff was very friendly.

I had an early dinner at N'awlins before going to the theater. The food, I ordered the blackened swordfish with jambalaya special, was excellent. However, N'awlins is a small space and they have, understandably, packed it with as many tables as they can squeeze in. I was sitting by the door to the basement washrooms. As people went to &... This was my second trip to N'awlins and I'll be back. The experience is unique. Live bands have been wonderful, playing their own music and music that gets the crowd involved. It's very close quarters. The staff as extremely accommodating. And the food is the best! Words can't even describe how delicious everything was. I can't wait to come back... More

I wanted to hear some live jazz so I picked this place to check out with a friend. From making the reservation, which I highly recommend as it is super busy, to the the intake and service , the customer service stood out . My friend ordered the jumbalaya which was to his liking and I ordered the seafood medley... More

We enjoyed our recent couples date night at N'awlins. Booked reservation online and received a confirmation phone call a day later. We arrived for our reservation and hung around bar for a short while until our entire group of six had arrived. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. It's a super cozy place and even when the band started... More

Over the years I've been to N'awlins several times and it's hit or miss. Last week I went with 3 girlfriends to have some drinks and bar food while taking in some jazz.. the bartender was rude, put an automatic 20% tip on our bill when we complained about the poor service and attitude. Gumbo was full of oil and... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
