Still trying to find a regular curry house near the Danforth, we gave Famous Indian Cuisine a try. Just okay. Don't expect to be wowed. Looked like curry, tasted like curry but I'm not clamouring for more. Ordered take out - took 1h 25 for 2 curries + 2 naans so it's not speedy. Sorry boys. I was really hoping... More

A hidden gem in the Gerrard area (Toronto, ON). I have not been to this place in 3 years because I moved. I had a huge urge for really good Indian food but reasonable price. I thought of "The Famous Indian Cuisine" right away. Trust me, it was worth a drive to this restaurant. The decor is low key but... More

I came to this restaurant the first time in the year 2012 in the winters. There was a lot offered in terms of the value and the charges are extremely reasonable. If you like good preparation and don't wanna spend a lot this is a wonderful place. Mind you they can be a little delayed filling all parts of the... More

Wonderful food and great service. We ordered from the menu--spinach, couple of chicken dishes and naan--all of which were delicious! Good portion sizes too--not too much and not too little. We'd definite visit again.

I have returned to this restaurant several times because of the delicious food and excellent service. The naan is freshly made and the buffet style is great because you get to try a little of everything. Best Indian food I have ever had!

My husband and I have had the buffet in many of the restaurants in Little India and they've all been delicious and a great experience. But silly me, I decided to try somewhere new so checked the reviews and decided on this place. Big mistake. We arrived on a Saturday at 12:30 absolutely famished and ready to dig in to... More

Famous is our go-to indian buffet. Yes there is only one server, but it's a buffet. you serve yourself! The naan is fabulous and I have pretty much eaten every dish on the menu. The butter chicken is the best in Toronto and they do a green pea/tofu dish that is to die for. It's no frills but for $10.99... More

The food was average for Little India. At the buffet was butter chicken, chicken curry, goat curry, tandoori chicken, and several vegetarian options. Selections were decent but the quality was average. It's cheap for all you can eat lunch, around $10 and the service was average. There are better options in Little India.

If your going to have a buffet don't watch your guests as they serve themselves then let them know when there is no signage stating what the dishes are or which dishes to use personally that they are using the wrong ones once they are eating their meal at the table. I found this to be rather rude. We asked... More

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
