AAA has excellent food, dry ribs and brisket are amazing. Great beer selection, cozy laid back atmosphere.

Nice pub. Didn't eat there but food looked and smelled good. Several tvs for watching sports thought not over pronounced. Overall worth stopping in for a drink or bite.

I went there tonight after a hockey game. Very small place, very loud place, very dark place. Your classic "hole-in-the-wall" bar. Menu was written on a piece of paper, which I was amused by. The menu was extremely limited and not all was available for take-out, which was kind of disappointing. I did get the pulled pork and coleslaw -... More

The service is friendly and unpretentious. The beer is cold and there's lots of craft beers on tap. Totally friendly service. The Texas child was awesome though the tortilla chips they served it with weren't that crisp. It's one of those hole in the wall places you want to come to because it's comfortable and is great at being what... More

Staying at Holiday Inn Express next door. Arrived after a very long day from England, so decided to eat here, having seen on internet it was very close to HEX. Served immediately, as soon as I mentioned food, a table suggested for us to sit at and Menus appeared. Unfortunately Mexican Chilli had all gone this particular evening , and... More

This bar and tex-mex restaurant provided a solid dinner with a very friendly and laid back team of bartenders and waitresses. The food was only decent. The macaroni could have been much better and beans were no better than from a can. Pulled pork was tasty.

Low key place for drinks with average service. Cheeky handwritten menu with simple BBQ items but sides extra when they feel like they should be included for a place like this. Pulled pork was very good and chicken and waffles BF got looked good as well. Very disappointed that there were no fries on the menu!???????

Great BBQ, good drinks and a cool little bar, the ribs are a must, wings were very tasty and the pulled pork was top notch, good place for a serious feed of BBQ

Was an easy choice to visit for a drink late after dining, a game or a show as it is located just behind the Holiday Inn Express. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Don't rely on the food to fill you though. Opens after 5pm till around 2am.

Small cozy pub, good for a drink with friends and only nice if you like that kind of casual hipster kind of places - don't go if you're looking for a fancy place. The server got us the wrong drink but he fixed it quickly. We didn't try the food. Nice, if you like the genre. 2 July 2016

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
