The food is freshly prepared and the servings are generous and good value for money although they are very fond of deep fried options. It is a small location with few tables and no one is encouraged to linger. The service does leave a little to be desired.

Had the all you can eat here. One of the staff members (old lady) was very rude and bumped into people seemed uninterested and I guess had trouble smiling. Service took about an hour for most items so if you're in a hurry don't choose this place. Food was decent, place was tiny.

We passed by Sushi & Bento on the way to the St Patrick subway station on Dundas to catch the Rogers Cup (ATP tennis) at the Aviva Center. After spending a tiring 6 hours watching the tennis matches, we decided to pick up takeout on the way home. Ordered a couple of the teriyaki chicken bento boxes at $12.95 each.... More

Sushi & Bento is a Japanese place on the south side of Dundas just a block or two east of University. I dropped by on a Saturday just at noon. I was the first customer but in the time I was there it started to fill up quite quickly, which suggests that locals recognize it as a place that combines... More

Don't even bother to go there. The staff barely understand english, the attention is miserable and the food its not even good. All of their rolls fall apart, the rice was warm and they forgot about our order. I wanted to go out for a nice and enjoyable experience and ended up being the worst sushi experience.

I ate here once last year for a dinner all you can eat, and their salmon sashimi is bad, very bad. I never smell something from a salmon, but i did smell something from their salmon at this place.

We went to this place for the ACYE lunch buffet for $12.99. It was definitel a good value/deal. The specialty rolls were the best, like Green Dragon and Spicy Dynamite. The avacado was fresh and the rolls were made big and professional. Not sure why people would give this place a bad review, usually with these ACYE sushi establishmetns service... More

I really wasn't that impressed by this sushi shop. It took the server about 15 minutes to just offer us a menu from when we sat down, and they didn't even offer, we had to get up and ask them because they were just ignoring us. Another couple actually came in and left because it was taking too long. Luckily... More

First of all, this place is called Torch Sushi and Bento (maybe it was renamed, I don't know). The food was quick to come out and very good. The server we had was on top of things and we had no problems ordering and re-ordering since we opted for the all-you-can-eat menu. We didn't do any research beforehand, we were... More

We were impress by the quality of food in this tiny sushi restaurant. Had the AYCE menu for $20. Enough to choose from. It is busy enough to keep the food fresh. We received a bonus of crab legs before our sushi which was a nice treat. Service was great. Also I recently returned for lunch AYCE. The price is... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
