Finally stopped in at Bar Hop (King West location) in Toronto and was really impressed with the service and beer selection, not to mention the bartender's beer knowledge was impeccable. Krista made my friend and I feel welcomed and excited to try new things. Given how busy it was, I was impressed at the level of care and attention we... More

The tap list is incredible! I couldn't believe at the amount of beers from different breweries and of different styles. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.

I recently went to the new location, a few blocks from the King St. location, at 137 Peter St. I had a flight of beer and dinner. The Brewco now has 4 in house brews, all Farmhouse/ Saison styles. They were a great addition to their already terrific craft beer selection. The service was great. The staff were knowledgeable. The... More

Went out with a bucks of friends, and my wife for snacks and food before our Son performed at Yuk Yuks. First off, tight place, so get there early. The beer list & bourbon list is excellent, top that off with reasonable pricing, and it makes it a winner. Tuesdays is buck a shuck oysters, fresh, medium sized, and come... More

Loved bar hop. Had the best beer list we could find in TO and the staff were great. Food was solid with good daily vegan specials mixed in with pub standards like solid fish and chips. Cozy spot that had great beers and an extensive spirits list as well.

The ever-changing menu of local craft brews keeps luring me back. Perhaps one of the most interesting selections in Toronto, it includes ciders, cask ales and scotch. I brought colleagues from abroad and they really enjoyed being able to order the flights instead of committing to a whole pint.

A rather shabby pub that I would mainly recommend for beers. They have a good selection of draft Ontario beers (the menu I was given listed a dozen), I tried two and they were good. The bottled beer selection was quite extensive. What I did not like was the food. They have burgers and a steak sandwich on the menu,... More

Passed by this place on a week night to sample some Ontarian beer. The beer selection is quite impressive, as there is a little something for everyone. I did find the beer bottle selection overpriced. However, the beers on tap were well chosen and reasonably priced. The food was mostly just ok. Nothing outstanding from what I have tried nor... Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
