Not only is the cooking outstanding but the noise level is so low you can enjoy a conversation while eating. Wine list is small but well chosen at reasonable prices. For chockaholics threir flouless chocolate cake is nirvana

Gerrard and Carlaw, in a dingy strip mall, made me look in the windows first to see i had come to the right place. Inside, eclectic!! 80's, 90's, + nicely done i enjoyed the lounge and dining tables mixed. Good welcome and attentive servers. Summerlicious...More

You might be a little wary as you step into what looks like a fifties bar in a strip mall at a very unpromising corner of downtown Toronto, but press on for a fine meal. The interior is almost fifties, the water glasses genuinely so,...More

Seafood Hot Pot, Flat Iron Steak, Osso Bucco, Steak Tartar was all delicious. The service was excellent and price was very good. If you want really good food for your $$$$ go there for dinner.

Another Johnny K and Laura P venture where people go to try and be cool and they suck people in to paying too much for too little. The food is mediocre at best and definitely not worth the price. The staff are poorly trained, if...More

For those who know east-end Toronto haunts, The Playpen comes to you from the same owner/chef combo as Tomi-Kro and Lolita's Lust (among others). For those not in the know, this is shorthand for exceptional quality food and interesting ambiance. So The Playpen? Same great...More
