Clever but poorly thought out. Look at the bacon, neat , but so fatty almost impossible to eat, needed bread or some type of carb to "cut it". Burger average, and that is a real challenge in Toronto, so many great burgers, nah it was aok. Fries were heavily spiced, nothing on menu, sent them back and asked just for... More

We had dinner at the Saint. One of us ordered a la carte and the other from a prix fixe menu. The food was excellent. The building is a classic old bar and a little worn, but don't let that stop you. Our only concern was that the service was rather slow, even though it was early and the restaurant... More

We went here after dinner and were told they don't do dessert. So we ordered some drinks which were promptly served. Then we heard oh wait we do a traditional banana split which was served and was decent. The overall impression is a bat that serves some food and is a good but not great spot.

Found The Saint by chance, it is a great setting and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Sadly the meal was a let down. I ordered the only vegetarian main, the baked ratatouille, my husband had the same. It looked amazing when served, but unfortunately it was swimming with oil. There was a good centimetre of oil in the... More

Food was great. Some had the poached eggs on corn bread. They loved it. I had the bacon and eggs. Three each of eggs and Cdn. bacon. Not a cheap breakfast at $12 but good. Place can be loud when crowded and all the hard surfaces. Numerous drink but we stuck to coffee and tea, so I don't know how... More

Wow! Have you been to a real funeral on Ossington street! Welcome to The Saint for brunch on a Sunday morning! The staff all look like they are super depressed or still hangover from the night before. No one, I repeat no one has a smile on their face and are far from being welcoming! As a customer, not only... More

We popped into The Saint for a quick appetizer and cocktails before our dinner reservation the other night. They were super busy and we were only a couple and more than happy to sit at the bar. We ordered a few of their cocktail specials of the night, which the bartenders were very knowledgeable and explained all the ingredients. We... More

Went with another couple on a Saturday night-and the place was packed! Great long bar-with attentive staff. Menu is a bit limited, but my party dug into; pierogis, fries, cheese board, as well as a very tasty hamburger! Good value, great lively atmosphere. A bonus is that you can also snack and bar hop to other good restaurant choices on... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
