Great value and quality u always get a bento box and usually add a few tasty treats! Try to make this a weekly ritual Quality, friendly service and just around the corner from home. I see they also do Uber eats and other deliverys.

On a recent visit to Toronto, our son told me to pick a restaurant at which to celebrate my upcoming birthday, so I suggested Kawa Sushi on Church Street. The friendly staff had reserved the window table for us and we enjoyed a tasty time together. I selected my usual favourite (Chirashi Don) while he went for two rolls (Eel... More

Ordered sashimi. They were out of clam, so instead I received the imitation crab...The fake crab you can buy from a supermarket around the corner. They cut it up nicely, but it is still imitation crab...

We have been several times for dinner and the food is always excellent and served with a smile. We love the crunchy tuna and crunchy salmon rolls, the beef and mushroom app, their special rolls, etc. Everything is so tasty. Can't wait to try more things on their menu. Highly recommend.

Ordered take-out - three different sushi rolls and edamame. Very fresh tasting and exactly as ordered. Ready when we arrived.

Delicious. Excellent service and great food. I particularly enjoyed by tempura rice bowl - a nice change from sushi, but everything here looked very good.

The restaurant is tiny but the Makis are supreme. It was a busily hectic night @ Kawa, the service was slow as there was only one server cum generalbody. Finally, after almost an eternity, we got served and the food started flowing. The makis, makis, makis.........the Kawa special lobster mango maki......we were stuffed, happily, deliciously stuffed! It was worth the... More

This is a really great choice for sushi if you are in or near this neighbourhood. Pleasant and efficient service. Good quality sushi rolls that aren't all rice. Pretty casual dining so don't expect anything too fancy. We've been a few times and will keep coming back.

I like Kawa Sushi. I go there a few times a month for dinner with friends. Their food is good (Variety of Bento Boxes, Sashimi, sushi rolls, California rolls and a good selection of vegetarian options available). Have a Japanese Beer or Sake and some green tea ice cream for dessert to round out a good meal. The service is... More

Probably a better option as a take out this unassuming place has a simple menu and a competent product.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
