Great ambience, superb service. Loved the filet mignon ! The succulent salmon is also a good choice !! Wide selection of wines. Offers private rooms for business dinners too.

Sausage appetiser strongly recommended but the clam chowder and the ahi tuna were quite disappointing.

Very good food and service! I had the veal with Brussels sprouts and they were fabulous. It was however hard to find the door to this place and a bit expensive, so avoid it if you are on a budget.

Had a dinner meeting with Nissan Canada before the Toronto auto show. T.J. Our waiter was awesome. He recommendations from the set menu were spot on. His friendly personality and willingness to help was awesome. The food was extremely good and would recommend for an event or evening a night out.

Modus bills itself as a high end Italian restaurant. It largely delivers on this promise with a pretty dining room (high ceiling, plenty of crisp linens and low lighting), attentive service and very good food. We enjoyed a pre-theatre dinner (the Royal Alex and Princess of Wales theatres are less than a ten minute walk away) which included the Caprese... More

So so food, only 2 shrimp I "grilled shrimp " and too expensive for what you get. Expected better . Nice decor but stuffy and food not up to standard for Toronto.

We were on a bit of a schedule this night, and let the hostess know we had to leave by a certain time - no problem! Appetizers were excellent - a soup special and salad - and both pasta entrees were terrific. Service was prompt, friendly and all the staff seemed to be working together. The only tip for other... Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
