We totally enjoyed the food and service. Menu is designed to be shared and is totally flexible on portions. Our server suggested the steak tartare, which we wouldn't have selected on our own and it was amazingly good. We shared the lobster bisque entrée and then the tartare appetizer and then shared the duck entrée. We had the hazelnut dacquoise... More

Great night out with colleagues and friends. Food was good, music was good and drinks were too but a bit expensive. Convenient parking.

Taking the time to dine at the Fifth Terrance is something you won't regret. Try their coursed menu and share between couples. From the service, to the decor, & ambitious this is an easy five stars.

I took a client to The Fifth as a way to say thank you for their business. Another client had referred me to The Fifth and recently took me their as a thank you from them for the work we had performed. Chef J.P. was in France at the time but his team did not miss a beat in quality,... More

My wife and I had dinner with another couple on a Saturday night during Winterlicious. We all sampled the Winterlicious 3-course prixe fixe. Two had the Beet Carpaccio salad and two had the Shrimp Royale with gravalax. The beet carpaccio got 2 thumbs up. The shrimp royale was good but not great. They’d made a terrine of sorts witht he... The Fifth Grill is located in an old warehouse, the unique entry up to the restaurant is by freight elevator with someone running it. You arrive in a candlelit room with white slip covered chairs, a roaring fire and staff that aim to please. The restaurant is very romantic but also lends itself to dining with friends and or family.... More

Well my title should say it all. We were there for a birthday party in a group of 12 and we felt neglected. The server was rude and impatient with us and did a very poor job of explaining the menu to us. The bill for my boyfriend and I came to $130 and we just had 2 appetizers and... More

Our party of four, recently dined at "The Fifth," to celebrate a birthday. We were not disappointed. The lobster bisque is to die for, along with the lobster risotto and the duck magret. Everything on the menu is available in small and large portions. Suggested wine pairings are also offered to go with each dish in three and six ounce... More

We've been to the Fifth Grill 3 times and our experience has always been delightful. The beautiful terrace sets up a very intimate ambiance and the food is just great. This is our favorite place for special occasions and we'll keep coming back.

Apparently there are different parts of the Fifth. They have a gastropub, a club, and then this more upscale dining experience. We get buzzed up to the terrace level (3rd floor?) for dinner. It had a very nice ambience, but the service was incredibly slow. We got seated with drink menus. It took our waiter almost 15 minutes to come... More

Description
Located on the rooftop of an old warehouse within Toronto's Entertainment District and accessible by a private elevator, The Fifth Grill & Terrace is an experience you should not miss. The press has called us 'a glamorous hideaway' and our terrace 'the best patio in Toronto'. Serving modern French cuisine created by award-winning executive chef JP Challet, The Fifth Grill and Terrace is well known for offering a personalized fine dining experience paired with charming ambiance. The dining room enjoys an eclectic décor with an inviting zinc bar, sofas in front of a wood burning fireplace and white linen covered tables creating a look of understated elegance. It is a perfect place for a private tête-à-tête, special celebration, business event or wedding. The Terrace, open year round, offers spectacular vistas of the city skyline and a cheerful atmosphere with summertime inspired décor and artifacts. A cocktail or dinner on the terrace comes with the promise of a carefree and relaxed evening. Both rooms are located on the fifth floor of a century old warehouse building in the heart of the Entertainment District and are accessed by an ancient, concierge operated elevator.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
