Until now, this is my favourite place in Toronto! Every time I come, the food is great, the staff also great and the prices very nice. For less than 15 dollars per person you get a full italian meal: pizza, pasta, great salads and awesome garlic bread. I've had the Greek Salad and twice with salmon and also the Salad... More

Omg. So good. I think it might be the best pizza in this city. I admit I have a few other recommendations to check out still but...I devoured an entire panzerotti to myself as my partner watched in horror?dismay? and I regret nothing!

The food not bad, you do get a lot with the big plate, but again at times the veal is not fresh, you can tell it has been sitting in the light for awhile. the bathrooms really need to be worked on and the place a good scrubbing. you can tell its been a few years since its been worked... More

So we stopped in on the way to salsa class and it was exactly what we needed - a 20 minute dinner, with wine, that cost $27 all in! Wow, I'm not sure how they make any money. The service is cafeteria-style or sit-down with menus. We shared one huge slice of vegetarian pizza, a large Greek salad with a... More

I like the food there, the pizza and the Big Plate have always been my favs. The biggest downside are the washrooms.

I went to The Big Slice after years of not going for old food, but on the suggestion of the other couple, we went. The pizza was decent and our waitress friendly, but upon tasting the veal cuttlet, it was old and had a 'fishy' taste to it. I addressed this with the waitress who checked with her manager, who... I decided to try this place as it seems to be a special place for some. I read several mixed reviews and wanted to see for myself. The atmosphere is what I would expect of a pizzeria, in downtown Toronto. Would be a popular go to place, late at night after the bars close. It was right across the street... More

Staying in York-Crosstown

Neighbourhood Profile
York-Crosstown
York-Crosstown is a sleepy area of Toronto dotted gorgeously with hills and farmland, stately homes and parks. An affluent district in parts, the stately houses at Baby Point along Jane Street are especially breathtaking, and make for a lovely wander on a clear day. Parks are bountiful in York-Crosstown, which makes it a vibrant area for outdoor play and sports, providing a break from the hustle of Toronto's busy, jam-packed city center. For a little spice after a walk in the park, the Little Jamaica area of York sports cheap, authentic food from the Caribbean. This area is restful and more orientated towards outdoor activity and the exploration of nature.
