No deals or discounts for TIFF members! Expensive if you sit in the area served by staff but there is an option to buy a sandwich/salad to take out and eat at tables set up outside the restaurant, inside the lobby. My friend had the...More

My partner and I were looking for something to eat on a Sunday morning and stumbled on this place. The ambiance was great along with some of the best Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict I have had in a long time. Next time we come to...More

I am loving all the new menu fun at Canteen. The eye is on healthy but so delicious. In place is head Chef Matthew and wow he has really rocked the food and drinks. The patio is huge and so perfect for people watching. Come...More

Our group of eleven had a great meal before we went to the theatre. Wonderful servers and food. The chef wrote out a recipe for my eleven year old grandaughter for a dish she loved, which was very much appreciated. Lovely experience!

If it weren't for the friendly efficient service, I'd give this a much lower rating. One of us had the butty and only ate half -- actually all of us only ate half our plates. The butty was processed meat and a fried egg that...More

We should have seen this Canteen is more like a pub—best for drinks on tap, rather than desirable for the pricey fare offered. Since I was with a senior citizen, we chose the nearest place here to be seated for afternoon dining, before HotDocs cinema...More

No lunch on Sunday (terrorised by brunch!) Service was slow. Ordered a burger but it took a long time to arrive - but was ok when it did. Has the feel of a college coffee bar - maybe why it’s called ‘canteen’. Would come again.

We went into 'Canteen' as it was just along from our hotel. It's modern, glass fronted with an open kitchen. Staff were very friendly and food very good. They also had a good selection of beers. Reasonably priced, tasty food and friendly staff in nice...More
