Recently, I gathered with long-time friends for lunch at the Library Bar. Still there are, the warm greetings, cozy atmosphere, good bar, delicious food, and courteous staff. I recommend it for the over-30s crowd.

Got the steak and it was amazing! The servers and host were polite and the atmosphere was really great. I would recommend.

This wood panel and leather, elegant yet comfortable bar at the Royal York is the perfect place for a drink and a bite to eat. I highly recommend it.

This was our second restaurant meal in Toronto this trip and it was disappointing. We chose it because it is so close to the train station. Despite its high ratings, great reviews and $$ to $$$ price rating on Trip Advisor, we found our food expensive for what we got – which we found to be of mediocre quality. The... More

This is one of the older, establishment bars in Toronto. Great quality cocktails and a very cozy ambience but the prices will shock you.

Had a wonderful afternoon enjoying a few cocktails and some delicious snacks while relaxing in a wing backed chair. It's a beautiful, antique looking library bar. The service was excellent and the food delicious. It's not cheap but it's a really nice treat.

The menu is extensive and expensive but in line with any other quality restaurant in Toronto. I had the beef short rib which was delicious and filling. The ambience here is clubby and enjoyable. Not quiet at lunch

This bar is located inside the Royal York Hotel which I stayed during Caribana for my birthday. Drinks are a little overpriced for my taste but for the atmosphere of the Royal York I would deem it as just right. It was a nice feel, and I enjoyed my drinks while here.

The Royal York's Library Bar is my go-to place to meet clients and colleagues. The service is warm and friendly (though sometimes a bit slow). Great cocktail list and food to share. Always people to watch. Try to sit on the upper level facing the door. Then you can watch who's coming and going.

Beef pot pie is amazing and the manhattans are perfection. Lovely selection of edibles in a comfortable atmosphere without having to leave the hotel

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
