We had food and beer an evening at the pub. The decor is nothing special and lacks that coziness you might expect from a pub. Daily food specials are well priced. Other items look expensive to me (nachos at 20$?). The food was ok. The nation is appealing when the weather is good (it is towards the north, so no... More

Drink specials, pub fare, outdoor patio with self-seating, occasional nightly events such as karaoke. The beer was cold and the food seemed very fresh. Service was great for us.

This is a good neighbourhood bar with pleasant staff, a good selection of drinks and a good choice of food. The outside seating area is great, inside is clean and comfortable. Great location just opposite the Wellesley subway station!

I arrived at about 7:40pm on Wednesday July 6 to grab a bite to eat on their patio. Their patio wasn't busy. Occasionally a waitress would come out, and I would try to get her attention but apparently I was either invisible or it was not in her job description to check on new guests. After 20 minutes I left.... More

Food is good but just average pub fare. Patio is nice but watch out for step level changes - saw many people stumble.

My husband & I were in the city for just 5 days and ate here our last evening in Toronto. It was within the same block as the Wellesley subway station, an easy walk for us. I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread and my husband had meatloaf with mozzarella, mashed potatoes, gravy and steamed vegetables. We agreed both... More

It is pretty run down and outdated, but I still enjoyed my time here. It is a very friendly atmosphere all around from both staff and the public. I was very impressed with the mix of ages, both young people and old timers. Rare to come across a place where it feels like it's a pretty even split. Karaoke night... More

Pros - attentive service - not busy - wide selection Neutral - burger and salad was acceptable but not outstanding - standard pub fare quality Cons - could use renovating - carpets were old; some seats were slit open - place seemed dusty

We used to live right next to this pub and go there all the time, and it was great. However, we've been there recently, 2 years after our last visit, and everything was kinda crappy. I ordered a chicken parm (which was spicy - I don't eat spicy food and nowhere in the menu was stated that it was spicy)... More

Fun atmosphere, quite busy. There is the standard pub foods you can buy, but there are other choices too for those who don't like pub food. I had a Thai stirfry, hubby had a burger and my oldest son had Chicken Parmesan. I do agree with the other reviewer that it wasn't anything extra special, but it was good --... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
